I've been a Ghostbusters nut at least as long as I've been into TF, and always wanted a decent proton pack (unlike the old Kenner toy, or the multiple hack jobs I made myself as a kid). Mattel's prop replicas reignited that old flame, but a movie replica pack would be too difficult and expensive to make myself. So I decided to make one based on the redesigned gear from the Real Ghostbusters cartoon (my other favorite show as a kid). I started with the gun. The body is scratchbuilt from sheet styrene, and finished to look more "real-world" than the animation model. I'm now working on gathering materials to make the pack itself.
Wow this is cool. On the Plus side, if you ever make a life sized shockwave, you have his cannon done
friggin sweet. dude, when i saw the pic with the light on, i heard the sound effect in my head, haha. Amplified Proton Pack sounds on www.replicaprops.com Sound Board 1M - YouTube great job.
Very cool! I liked the design of the cartoon proton packs better anyway! Your's looks great. Next you need a ghost trap.
Thank you, funny you should ask. I'm doing a cartoon PKE meter as I do the pack. It's small, so it should be done in a week or so. Stay tuned!
Thank you. I've made some progress on the pack itself. Not much worth taking pics of yet, but i have the basic shapes made up. I'll post pics when I have something worth looking at. Stay tuned Busters
