You really can't cancel a "best offer" after it's been accepted. The best you can do is contact the seller and tell him it was a mistake or come up with a good story to where he will agree to let you out of the auction....or just don't pay and take the knock on your ebay account....but yeah there is no way to take back a best offer after it's accepted

All you can really do is ask the seller to scrub the transaction.

Aside from being neg'd, non-payment goes on your permanent record, more than 2 non-payments in a certain period, and there's some risk of your account being restricted.

Any reason you have to "withdraw" the best offer? That's definitely poor form on eBay (or any other auction/offer site). And yes, eBay does have wrist slap consequences for non-paying bidders/buyers. If you don't pay, a claim will be filed against you.

    Buyers can't get neg'd.

    Yup, and 3 non-payments = suspended account.

I thought that was only once they'd paid. Interesting.

Been that way for years now. Another reason eBay heavily favors the buyer side. They justified the decision by pointing out Sellers that posted retaliatory Neg feedback. From where I stand, I think the decision has hurt the eBay community. Other sellers have no idea if a buyer is a flake. The only precaution is setting restrictions for your listings (ie - no buyer with a certain amount of claims over a time period).

This information is incorrect. Unpaid strikes are for the lifetime of the bidders account.

Nope, currently sellers are not able to leave neutral or negative feedback for buyers.

If a buyer loses the unpaid item dispute, they can't leave a seller negative feedback.
