    UPDATED 10.04.2017 DECALS FINALLY FINALISED!!!
Despite his possible appearance in the CW instructions artwork, I started to doubt we would get a CW Ratchet before the changeover to Titans Return. Fortunately Steamshield came to the rescue and now, after a little paint accenting and some weapon theft, the pupil really has become the master...

Massive thanks to Steamshield for his awesome custom head designs, cheers, fella! :rock

I saw the title and thought for a moment that this was some distorted, Sith-related custom.

But it wasn't, and your work is awesome.

Thank you, but I can't take the credit. It's 90% that noggin, which is down to Steamshield. ;)

EDIT: Just remembered I also owe thanks to Neurowing, without whom I wouldn't have some spare window-coloured decal stickers. Cheers to you too, Xavier!

Are the window-colored decals Reprolabels? If so, which set do they come from?

Non-Toyhax reprolabels. I cut them down from some spare window detail stickers from the CW Optimus Prime label set I got from Neurowing here on the TFW Radicons board.

Hey you don't give yourself enough credit - that's great execution. Especially like the way you did the light piping. Also - thanks for your support buying beta!

Awesome job! One question (as I don't have this mold yet): how secure is the handfootgun weapon in that overhead position? It looks great there, and it'd be a real bonus if it can securely fit like that especially for Trailbreaker!

Thank you, nice to have the approval of the original designer. :thumb
I still think the credit is going where it's due, after all it's your head that inspired the deco - it wouldn't exist without it.

It's adequate for posing but not secure enough for play, wobble him around too much or turn him upside down and it's straight off.
It'd take at least something like tabs under the hood and maybe a slot on the top of it for the thumb to really secure it. I'm interested to see what the new shape of the Trailbreaker hand can achieve myself. Particularly as doing the same on Ironhide/Off Road is a bugger as it's so unstable, First Aid's grill is the better shape to do it.

    Nice work!

That works pretty well for Ratchet.

Looks a lot like mine minus the red head. Good work!

I did one myself a month back. Needs a couple touches still.

Nice! After core-swapping Ironhide I really didn't fancy doing it again (plus I had no idea what I would do with the resulting spare Aerialbot, what did you do?) and I was worried there might be clearance issues in car mode.
Did you strip off the red paint from his chest to get the white parts, or is it just how well you repainted it?

All paint. I haven't transformed him into car mode though since I don't want to risk it.

Ah, yeah, found that out the hard way myself. I've had to settle for removing the paint (both mine and the original) from the transformation slot with a craft knife. It's a little rough around the edges but only if you're looking closely and, so far, the remaining paint has survived a few car mode test drives.

Just FYI watch out for your copy of First Aid's balljoint when swapping heads. Nothing major, it appears mine wasn't exactly 4mm spherical, so I had to apply a little varnish to stop the head wobbling when posed looking left.

Resurrecting this thread as only the greatest Chief Medical Officer could manage as I've just bought and received some Corgi/Dinky toy reproduction labels to finally finish off his deco.
A side bonus was the recent discovery that the First Aid mould forearms are 3mm post compatible on the underside, sadly I've only got one DOTM Commander Prime blaster to act as a Laser Scalpel, so currently a spare G1 Swindle gun is shemping in as a Cryo-blaster!

The Doctor is IN and you will see him NOW!

Raising this like the dead once again for another update!

Finally managed to snag myself a proper pair of underslung "Laser Scalpels" from an unfortunate DOTM Commander Optimus, and I suddenly remembered that not only did I have a Spares-&-Repairs First Aid but I also just got some White in the Mr.Hobby model paint I've just discovered (which so far, touch wood, has been working a treat on my recent custom attempts) so, yeah, DO OVER TIME!!!
    Ooh, yeah! That'll do!
