According to the latest Wizard, Punisher actor Thomas Jane admits that he was in Spider-Man 2

He was definitely uncredited, could this hint at a crossover?

Cool, I never saw that. Then again I wasn't looking. So was he The Punisher or just a nobody?

Maybe if it WAS indeed him, he'll be the "villian" along with The Scorpion and the Venom symbiote in Spider-Man 4.

I'm sure it was just a funny little nod to the characters past. besides, I don;t think that scene actually made it in to the final cut.

Yeah it's definitely in the movie. I never pay attention to extras because 99% of the time they're nobodies.

Phil Lamarr is an extra in Spidey 2 as well, one of the guys on the train Peter saves. He was one of the originals on MAD TV (the one who did Michael Jackson), Marvin in Pulp Fiction, and does a shit load of voice acting now (Green Lantern on the current Justice League, & Hermes on Futurama for example.)

That guy pictured above doesn't quite look like Thomas Jane to me. Am I crazy?

Doesn't look like Jane to me either. Aside from that, as far as a crossover goes...Punisher was made by a different studio, making such a thing nigh impossible.

Not impossible now that Marvel is a movie studio

I had also said that didn't look like Thomas Jane, but my friend read off from the latest issue of Wizard, hence the reason why I added a question mark at the end of the thread title

More research turns up conflicting reports

    While...
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0316654/trivia

And according to what my friend read in the article, it says Thomas Jane himself admitted it being in the movie, so who's right?

I don't think it's quite that simple. Marvel partnered up with Paramount as exclusive distributor of any future projects ('future' being anything after that deal which was a couple of years ago now). They now have ultimate control over the property/characters and get a bigger slice of the pie, much like Star Wars, where ultimately Lucas owns, well..pretty much everything, and Fox just distributes the movies. But the half-dozen studios they've farmed out past properties to, retain the distribution rights as long as they continue to make movies. If they don't within a certain amount of time agreed upon in the initial arrangement, the rights revert back to Marvel and go under the Marvel/Paramount umbrella. Sony ain't givin' up Spidey and Fox ain't givin' up the X-men franchise so that Marvel and Paramount can go make all the money.

No... or at least highly unlikely. It'd definitely be a cool idea, but there are more significant crossovers I'd wish for. However, seeing as all the heroes were split up among the major studios, I don't know how far they would go to cooperate with one another. Heck, look at Batman. He and Superman are both WB, but they still don't want Bats in the Justice League movie!

One can always hope though, right?
