Like everyone else has said, it'd be nice if it was a little bit bigger so that it matched the height of the jets, but either way I'll be buying it.

For some odd reason, prototypes always excite me more than the finished product. It's probably because the decision to buy always happens at the prototype stage.

I'm thinking this may just fit in nicely with the Classics line(s). The MP Seekers were fairly short (compared to Prime) and some even use those in their Classics setups. So if Soundwave here is just a bit shorter, as it appears, it may just fit right in with the likes of Classics Megatron and co.

I really like the overall look and I wouldn't change the chest at all. I always hated that flush chest on G1 Soundwave. I think it looks great and fits when comparing to a lot of the toon images and artwork.

It looks cool, and I'll probably get it, but I really would have preferred an updated version.

Tape deck alt mode is very outdated, and about the most boring alt mode of any TF. It's basically a non-transforming robot, because I can't see anyone buying this for the alt mode or ever displaying it as such...

That being said, my favorite thing about Soundwave has always been his little minions popping out of his chest. I just hope it comes with a couple of them with updated articulation.

 

This stuff just keeps comin and comin. And I have to say I love 90% of it.

 

I like a few things - better articulation and the size will look better with both MP and Blaster (why did they make those 2 toys very different sizes?) - but the price is a huge factor on this one. Less than $100, maybe. More, probably not. Articulation is great but it is still just a big blocky robot, not a huge leap from an oversized ko. But if it is a good price, maybe. Best feature - it fits the G1 tapes!

All points agreed! Well, maybe they could try and squeeze 3 G1 tapes in the chest? I got two in my custom from the oversize KO, and this guy seems to have a much deeper torso... Ravage, Rumble and Laserbeak fitting inside would be EPIC!

Duh, and this Soundwave will scale with the giant G2 Megatron as well, and G1 Blaster. Brilliant, really.

 

Is it just me, or does it kind of look like Pat Lee's Soundwave? I think it's the chunky legs.

 

Great shape! Hope they won't add extra electronics to mess up the proportion.
