...invasion of the body snatchers freaked me out so hard as a kid; i'm stunned that rescue bots, of all properties, went so hardcore!..seriously creepy stuff going on in that episode...

Did you miss the episode with the Flying Lobsters? That entire episode is a parody of Hitchcock's The Birds except it went and used Frankie to recreate the famous telephone booth scene.

...indeed!..there's some seriously top-notch writing in rescue bots, not to mention its voice acting, direction, and production, to boot...i sincerely believe it's a legitimate contender for the strongest transformers series overall; academy has some very large boots to fill...

Nah, Animated still has that since at the end of the day, Rescue Bots is just weaving in pop culture references.

Animated actually twisted the source material and has the most morally gray Autobot faction to the point as an organization, the Autobots were only somewhat less ruthless than the Decepticons on average, and then Sentinel alone almost committed actions that Megatron thought were completely unthinkable.

...should it?..rescue bots was an ambiguous call, since it's the same continuity as prime/robots in disguise...

Among other things! I really liked the references to The Journey to the Center of the Earth, 20 000 Leagues under the Sea and other Jules Verne's stories.

I think it's the matter of setting. Rescue Bots do have mature writing that leans more into the direction of small-scale drama. There are numerous episodes that are eyebrow-raising like the episode that introduced Professor Baranova, the one where chief Burns is stuck with a broken arm in a sinking cave or the one where Blurr ditched Salvage to save his own metal hide then tried to cover it up. Rescue Bots did a great job of keeping those things kid-friendly with enough hints for adult viewers to see what isn't being said. I mean the implications of what woud happen to a group of people stuck in a cave in a total darkness without food and water or any means of escaping... Scaaary.

No, it's not ambiguous... RB discussion has been in TFGD since it's beginning. Check the STICKY thread and post there.
