Is it just me? I love these, but only the ones available in the West. I'm not interesting in trying to get all the different colour variations.

This is my collection of all 53, but can you spot the odd-one out?

ahhhh Mr. Red Thundercracker I see you.

Nice idea. At one point I had a picture of my whole decoy collection which included all the US red Autobots, all the US purple Decepticons (w/ Lazerbeak) and all the US red Decepticons.

Edit: Looks like I only took a picture of the red Decepticons that are in my collection

I only had a few of these as a kid, and I think they're great.

The best part is that I started an Optimus Prime/Primal collection many years ago, and the Prime Decoy is one of the 3 that I have.

Still having Shrapnel is cool. Still having Grimlock is great.

This web site has some info on the Red Decepticon decoys. I also remember there was a nice write up about them in one of the Transformers Collectors' Club magazine a few years ago and they mention the rare red Decepticons as well. It took me some time to complete my set of them but it's possible since I still see them for sale in various places.

Interesting blog posting too. I didn't realize the official decoys went to #57. Were those only released in Japan and in the proper purple color? (who cares about the other rainbow versions =)

Man I wish I had more decoys, all I ever got as a kid was Snarl, and such a cool idea for a toy pack in. I still have the little Decoy leaflet thing with the comic detailing their origins! Heh.

:lol  I think everyone did. I've got nearly the full bunch of decoys in a box somewhere, they're fun little things to pick up at toy shows when I find the ones I'm missing. Nice predecessors to the pvc figures from a couple years back.

I'd like to know that, too. Decoy Shockwave is one of the very few Shockwave's I need to complete the shrine.

I have Prowl, and that's it. My inner Sheldon Cooper urges me to chase down every version of every character. Thank goodness I can ignore him.

I loved the Decoys for some reason when they came out. I didn't end up getting many of them because I already had most of the figures they came out with. If Hasbro did something like that again I most likely would have been buying doubles to get them all.

I've thought about starting a collection of them for a couple of years now. Every now and then I check ebay for a nice lot to get the ball rolling. The only thing holding me up is the cost. Usually individual Decoys sell for around $10+.... at that price a Decoy collection would add up really fast.

I must say Sidbeckett, I'm definatly jealous of your collection. :D

This thread has my full support!

I don't believe I've ever seen a Decoy Transformer except in online pictures.

I want to see more pictures. Hyperoptic has a nice collection of them. If I ever complete my MPs, G1, and Classics I need, these are gonna be next on my list. I havent really startedd knocking em out, cause I know that once I start, I won't stop.

Most of the decoys I've bought recently (at toy shows and such) have been pretty cheap, around $5 or so. I don't care enough to pay much more than that anyway.
