This just fits so well with your sig it's not even funny. Also I'm loving the look of this movie. I was skepitcal at first but now that I've heard a bit of the music and seen some more of what the story is, I'm ecstatic. This film can't come out fast enough. Here's to hoping for a revival in 2-D animation fellas. Bring back the good art.
Okay, I'm not going to discuss this anymore after this post. I have two close black friends who talk COMPLETELY normal. (They also loved the Twins) After hearing about the racist accusations, they love joking about how one of them is Skids and the other is Mudflap. Of all the people I've met that talk gangsta speak, I've met four white kids, two asians, and a black guy. If you immediatley link gangsta speak to black people, you either know a hell of a lot of only black people that talk like that, or you're racist yourself. Michael Bay was just making a joke about the Twins, who just think they're really tough and cool (when they're not). If you assumed he was being racist, maybe you should take a look at yourself and think about what you're saying for a second. I've never talked about the whole Twins subject before, so just consider that my opinion on it...
When was the last 'traditionally' animated movie? The last one that springs to mind was Disney's own 'Treasure Planet', which was partly-CG anyway. Hopefully this will be a success and revive interest in movies of this ilk, and mean less of the likes of 'Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs'.
`Princess and the Frog' hops to No. 1 with $25M - MSN Movies News I have to honestly say that Im surprised at how well this movie opened.
I'm very much on the edge of seeing this or not, after the pureness of Wall-e I don't think I can go back to Animated.
To be fair in terminology, 3D computer animated movies are still animated. I loved Wall-E too but I don't see why that should stop you from watching a 2D animated film. I have 2 professors who used to work for Disney and have both claimed that The Princess & The Frog is being treated as an experiment to see how profitable 2D films are now; and apparently Disney will be permanently shutting down their 2D film department if The Princess & The Frog doesn't do well. This is why I'm encouraging everyone I know to see it. "Better technology doesn't mean better storytelling." Truth is, I find both forms of animation (since the program I'm in teaches both) incredibly fun and respectable, but I still highly prefer 2D.
Seriously. The Princess and the Frog was a great movie, and the character designs and the animation are perfect. I'd love to see it again and again at a theater if I could afford it, and I'll be buying up all the merchandise I can find. I want this movie to show Disney they can still make a profit off their classic animation.
Not like the majority of 3D animated films are much better. Planet 51, Meet The Robinsons...ugh. Though in addition to Wall-E, Up was also fantastic. I think the last 3D movie I liked before those 2 was Toy Story. That's quite a gap. The last 2D film from Disney that I liked was Atlantis (and still holds the title of my favourite Disney movie, a spot that is shared with The Lion King).
