What would be your opinion of a great TF game? I was watching some Supreme Commander clips on Youtube and I had this vision of a massive multiplayer game where we could choose our alt. mode and customize our looks with geometric shapes or something. So its kinda like TF movie game but much much better!

How bout you guys? Just a fun let-loose-imagination thread!

Mix the Armada game with the Movie game city environments and the DS games character customisation, and there you have my perfect TF game.
Also, throw in plenty or canon characters as playables. Just to mix things up a bit.

A GTA style (sandbox) game based only on cybertron and its moons. With a mix of RTS, fighting, and Mission based. Like a civil war game where you can choose what missions you accept. You could mix all sorts of elements into it really and create an awsome game. Squad based tactics would also be a plus!

Unicron trilogy had all the lame characteristion of a bad japanese RPG, will that do?

If we did go sandbox, I'd prefer the missions to be cheesy G1 like stories.

    y'know... fun!

try to do space opera and you'll get Gundam. And we all know how good those games are...

I would say the sandbox style of the Movie game nailed it pretty well. However, the decepticons worked together more in that game than the autobots(Ie Starscream mission with Bonecrusher). This needs to be flipped around. err forgot the go save jazz mission...Regardless. And make the guns and cannons useful!!

I just feel that a Transformers game shouldn't feel like a generic giant robot game. If anything, the agility of the movie bots would be welcome in a game. (IMO previous games have made them too clunky)

I'd like to see a secret ops-style game like Metal Gear, Starcraft Ghost and Syphon Filter starring Mirage.

A Guild Wars style MMORPG (i.e. no fee) where you could pick and change your alt. mode (with basically EVERY mode ever available in the game) would probably rule.

Then we'd have a leveling system with ranks like Voyager class etc, the more frags we have the bigger variety of weapons and deco parts :D

For me. A real time strategy game like "starcraft" or "command and conquer". But with transformations available for your units. highlight your units and select transform. Then they'll change and gain more mobility and/or changes to their weapons such as laser or solid rounds.

And set it in g1 so we can have some real heavy hero characters like strarscream or ironhide to pull out. mixing in tv series sound bytes to re-affirm their presence.

    Grand Theft Autobot!

I'm really big into the whole sandbox and customization thing. The more of that, the happier I am.

I really want to play that game too. But I've seen clips on Youtube, and the voice acting is TERRIBLE!

If you did that there wouldn't be any game left. ;)

Anyway. The movie game got it mostly right. It got the feel of being a giant alien robot that turn into an earth vehicle right. The combat however Starbreeze botched. Robot ranged attacks were totally useless, and lock on left much to be desired. With better combat and a half decently put together story the movie game would be best for a TF game. Some RPG elements like leveling and stat building wouldn't be unwelcome either.

That said a TF MMO (free or otherwise) would suck ass. And the TF brand isn't suited in the least to an RTS game. Diablo-esque action RPG would work too.
