Will all the extra Bumblebees and Optimus Primes left over from the ROTF, DOTM, HTFD, and TFP end up in a landfill someday like the millions of Pacman 2600 cartridges of 1983??

Seriously, how much more money does each figures cost us because of the waste created from overproduction of those two characters?

Hasbro, WTF??? Enough already! Bumblebee and Prime need to be 1:1 going forward!!!

I think ET was only produced once. Not as often as pacman anyway. I find pacman is good analogy.

This fandom also eats bumblebee threads like power pellets.

No. Because unlike the ET cartridges people actually buy those BB figures.

He is not making an analogy. The OP is referring to an actual event where a game tanked so bad and so many were produced they had to bury then in a landfill.

    That game...

    wait for it....

    almost there....

E.T. anticlimatic, I know, but a lot of people know this story. lol

No, Pacman actually sold really well. It was crap, but it sold well.

... which indirectly was worse for the industry, because so many people bought such a bad game that it turned them off video games.

BB's are the same. Apparently, it sells a lot.

But the videogame saturation back then is non-indicative of TFs times now. There's still quite a variety unlike overly similar videogames back then.

do these Threads serve any purpose, Hasbro has said they would adjust the case ratio once they see a decline in the sale of BB, and we just got news that they have indeed revised the case to have less BB more Vehicons.

No more than any other video game cartridge that sold well.

The only reason ET is particularly notable in terms of this is that the unsold cartridges were buried in a landfill in Las Vegas or something.

    Ebay:
I got that game when it was new for a Bday present.

I beat it. like....FAST. I ended up HATING that game because I seen the price tag for it when I opened it. I THINK it was $40 or $50 BACK THEN! I just rememeber thinking how many Joes or TFs I could have had for that..

    That stupid game

I know what the OP is trying to say, And without ragging on grammar or anything, I understand.

10 years from now, will BBs be at every garage sale? Can you "go in the back yard and scratch in the dirt and find an arm for a DOTM BB?" type thing

In a way, I would say, yes. But also I would say that BB is going to be one of the most played with toys, so it could also happen that they just get beat up and tossed in the trash.

    Its an interesting thought...

I actually think there is an empty TFW landfill of closed threads complaining about the overabundance of BB figures.

Can we just get one thread stickied where people bitch about too many bumble bees?

Actually I understand the POV the TC is coming from and who knows the excess Bbs may have been a factor in US retailers cancel ling orders on characters like Leadfoot, Que etc. But I believe Hasbro is monitoring the sales of certain characters. For example, I managed to snag a PRID Vehicon at retail in my country.
