That's very true. I forgot that she's the first woman director to win. And very deservedly so too.

The times in that movie where I was sweating? Man. :lol

Worst movie of the year (possibly several years), count yourself as lucky for not seeing it.

Far and away their worst movie, and it's not close...not even close to close. Just an awful movie.

That's probably why I completely forgot about it in the first place. :lol

Seriously, it was horrible. It lacked all the character development that was found in ROTF Bumblebee.

Just a question to everyone about Avatar... This movies name is usually followed by "the highest grossing movie of all time..." but how do they figure that out? Considering inflation and the fact that Avatar was a more expensive film to see... should something like Gone with the Wind or the original Star Wars be number 1?

I don't know how much it cost to see Gone with the wind but i'm sure it was nowhere near the 10 bucks avatar (or 12 at the IMAX) cost.

Out of the remaining nominated movies that I haven't seen, I'd like to see The Blind Side and Up In The Air.

That'd bring me up to 7 out of 10 movies.
That's why the "highest grossing movie" title should be taken with a grain of salt. It really doesn't mean that much since the number is skewed right off the bat.

Man a couple serious :lolol  in here.

Overall what I expected. Somethings I agree with, some not so much. Was hoping to see District 9 snag at least screenplay and Coraline for animated film (not that Up isn't a good film, just not my favorite Pixar film of the last few years).

Sandra Bullock having an Oscar kinda freaks me out but at least Clooney and Avatar missed the big wins.

Plus now people can say, Point Break from Academy Award Winning Director Kathryn Bigelow!

    The Oscars, ruined forevah.:lol

Though the sad part is that when the Academy finally does recognize Tarantino, it'll probably be for his most mediocre ever.

All Time Box Office Adjusted for Ticket Price Inflation

While I loved Inglourious Basterds, I felt that that movie, along with UP!, An Education, A Simple Man, and District 9 had no chance.

In fact, it almost seems like those five were included just to make the 10 movie requirement.

I think the top five would've been Avatar, The Blind Side, Up In The Air, The Hurt Locker, and Precious.

Probably. Basterds was my best movie of last year by a country fucking mile and certainly Tarantino's movie with most mainstream appeal. Maybe one day he can do it :(

When he makes his kids movie or something :cry

I'm pretty happy with this turn out, so to speak. Avatar won the awards it deserved. Hurt Locker won the awards it deserved, although I'm a little sad it beat District 9 for best picture.

A Serious Man was seriously mediocre.

Whatever yo. Hurt Locker was decent but ehhhh best movie? Can't dig that. I KNOW IT'S NOT A MOVIE BUT GENERATION KILL WAS WAY BETTER

And fuck Bullock, Mulligan should have got it.

    In The Loop was roooooooooooooooooobbed

I'm kinda glad that Cameron didn't win Best Picture and Best Director. Not to take away from the mab's skills or anything, but he already won most of these awards for Titanic, so giving him an award again would seem redundant.

    Best.Post.Ever.

    Yes. Yes he was.

True dude. Loved that series. Saw the 'Locker almost a year ago when it looked like a proper release was unlikely. Championed it then as a great film, but Oscar bait? Nah.

Yeah but see I LOVE Sandy B...and she deserves it just for this - picking up her Razzie:
