Someone help me out? Are the CNYs online only besides some of the huge shoe stores like in LA,NY? I have this "gurantee cop" pass to the sheikh I wanted to use it for that but there not getting them in store. It's fine I'll still find a way to get them and use the pass for the motor sports.

I would assume it's a primarily online release with only major stores getting them in-hand for lottery sales, yes. I haven't been inside a Shiekh in a while, do they even sell Nikes/Jordans, at least in store? I've peaked their site and don't see any Nike/JB shoes.

Got a lil sneakerhead in training, kinda. He's only 12, don't really want him being a fully fledged member. He likes Penny's, plus unlike most kids, he likes to match his shoes with his basketball uniform. Most of these he's used only for traveling basketball. The 1's are run down so he wears those as his outside winter shoes. His modest dirty collection. I'm sure he'll be asking for the black/blue Penny 4s for his birthday coming up.

Nice. Did he have any interest in the retro Penny Foams that are out next week?

If I had more money I'd defiantly buy those foams. I think I'll get the copper ones though.

I'm sure he'd want a few of the Penny Foams, those sharpie ones, the blue chrome, anything that's a combo of blue/black/white. Problem is Foams are really expensive, no? He's only 12, hence still growing, there's no way that the Mrs would even consider letting me spend 180+ on shoes for him. So I usually get em on sale or get em really cheap on eBay. I haven't paid more than 100 for any of his Penny's. Maybe he could do 150+ for his birthday, I could get away with that but anymore and I'll hear about it.

Which is odd considering what I spend on TFs but that's how she is, lol.

I'm mulling between Copper when those come out, or just going after a Gold pair since deadstock pairs aren't crazily priced right now. If money weren't tied up elsewhere, I'd probably be going after the Penny Foams as well, but I also already have the Cobalt Ben Gordon Foam Pros that came out last year. I love the Foam but am not sure I want two Foams that are that similar.

Yeah Foams lean toward the more expensive Nikes (more expensive than some Jordan retros); I think kids' size Foams run for $180. The good thing is, kids' sizes hang around or are more likely to get restocked than adult sizes. I get being hesitant to spend that much on a show for a growing kid; I wasn't getting expensive Nikes when I was young until the latter half of high school when I wasn't growing as much anymore and wouldn't outgrow an expensive pair quickly.

Yeah, he's jumped from a size 8 in men's to a size 10 in men's this or last year and he's not even 13. I just hope he doesn't get into my size of shoes.

LOL the whole "getting cool shoes for kids" dilemma (see also: toys now because when we were kids we couldn't buy everything we wanted).

Not gonna lie, I bought a whole bunch of Js for my son once he was born despite knowing they are a total waste of money. Let's see:
-their feet grows crazy fast, probably get a few wears at most
    -infants who can't walk + pricey shoes = ?!?
-he don't know or care who Michael Jordan is!
So yeah, it's really all for me/us. Will post pics next change I get!

Oh wow, yeah he's growing fast. I didn't reach a size 10 until I started high school.

Nice. You have to track your friend down and dunk on him now.

Yeah definitely share the pics. If I had a kid I'd probably be tempted to do the same thing. Then get a tiny hoop and have them dunk over the family dog or something.

It's like collecting transformers. Some people don't wear much of them and keep them "deadstock" others just buy the ones they like to wear and then there is the hype beasts that get only popular trending shoes.
