I think the Max's look great. Not every TF fan buys these things for the purpose of ripping them open. Vintage stuff like that which is graded and sealed is pretty damned cool in my book because there are so few of them. With that said, the AFA grading inexplicably adds a ridiculous premium to what sealed figures may originally cost ungraded. Graded sports cards work the same way. But, if someone's willing to pay for it, then it must be worth it.
damn man you got all the fort's in AFA thats really cool man, i couldnt do it thought i would have to take them out and play with them a lil. I cant just left things in there boxes, though i always keep the boxes
Cool pictures but seriously guys...I can never have my toys graded...I simply have to open up my toys and fiddle with them...if I have them sealed and graded by the AFA, I would go INSANE! LOL!
LOL, I was waiting for someone to scream out for me to free them oh well, i guess based on the general consensus on AFA i guess this thread wont go in the direction that i had hoped. i'll think of another one F_C
There are other folks who have done it, and continue to do it. It's not taboo, just a vocal minority think it's, well, stupid. Given their tendency to be grossly inaccurate AND not being able to ID bootlegs they became a laughing stock. Also, alot of the older AFA threads/posters turned things into a sort of "bigger-dick" rant. They viewed they were better than others because they had their toys rated. Silly. And as for my mortal brain comment...I simply mean that my brain is simply to primitive to understand the appeal of AFA grading.
Well, too bad for those other AFA owners who think they are better than others because of damn toys. Now THAT is stupid. I definitely don't think I am better than any other collector or fan here. Just simply sharing a joy for the robots we all love and blow our wallets up for Anyway, thanx for all the insight regarding the perception of AFA and their policies (pricing) I for one can attest to that. I just don't want anything happening to my 'grails'. I'm sure we all feel the same way regarding our most valuable pieces. F_C
