Well, I'm not sure if there's been one, but this is wishful thinking on my part, as I am currently in JROTC.

How many of you were in the program, and any fond(or hateful) memories?

I was never in it, but i did develop a good rapport with one of the sargeants.
Sgt. Snodgrass knew of my uncle's MoH and when i started at the high school, he spent time with me. we talked, but he never pushed the army recruiting thing. He just talked and made sure i kept my nose clean.
he was a good man and pretty good leader/role model.

in the hall, he'd see me and salute me. honestly, other than what i said above, he never told me why he did that.
    I always saluted back.
i liked it for one reason- it pissed off the a$$holes that were in the drill team.
    He never saluted them.

Though we called the JROTC "The Pickle Brigade", it wasn't a bad experience at our school. Most of the kids here are military brats from the army base next door and are used to it.

Though, if it weren't for the instructors like Sgt. Snodgrass, it wouldn't be half as good as it is.

Sergeant. And I can't believe there was actually a dude named "Snodgrass." :lol

But what was your uncle's last name/rank? I'd love to look up his citation!

Two friends of mine are in JROTC at their high school. I would be too but my high school doesn't have it, I don't want to go to Encinal and my mom wouldn't let me even if I did.

I just know that usually when our officers go through ROTC first, they come out obnoxious and think their shit doesn't stink. They usually get a reality check really quickly once they enter active duty. Don't think for one second that the real-world-military is anything like they teach you.

I knew a guy in the Air Force ROTC when I was in college.

I caught him masturbating to porn on my computer.

He probably didn't consult his flowchart first. AF Officers can't function without flowcharts.
