Rangers rule. Althought they really suck in the last two weeks. But they will not lose to Devilz. I predict a close 7 game series but Rangers will prevail.

Well, I'll go ahead and make some first round predictions:

    Eastern Conference:

    1.Ottawa Senators - Senators in 6
    vs
    8. Tampa Bay Lightning

    2. Carolina Hurricanes
    vs
    7. Montreal Canadiens - Canadiens in 7

    3. New Jersey Devils - Devils in 7
    vs
    6. New York Rangers

    4. Buffalo Sabers - Sabres in 6
    vs
    5. Philadelphia Flyers

    Western Conference:

    1.Detroit Red Wings - Wings in 7
    vs
    8. Edmonton Oilers

    2. Dallas Stars - Stars in 6
    vs
    7. Colorado Avalanche

    3. Calgary Flames - Flames in 7
    vs
    6. Anaheim Mighty Ducks

    4. Nashville Predators
    vs
    5. San Jose Sharks - Sharks in 6

Nashville/ Sharks prediction could change if Voloun makes it back for the first round. I haven't really been following his progress.

Knowing absolutely nothing about hockey, I pick the Hartford Whalers to take it all.

Well, for a team that the experts predicted that they wont be in the playoff, Habs are not so bad... but... there's better teams before them. At least they outlasted 14 others clubs :)

Montreal has what the Flames had two years ago: A hot goaltender who is coming into his own at just the right time. On top of that, they are a much better team up front than people seem to want to give them credit for. I could see them getting to the eastern conference final with continued great goaltending.

However, getting past Buffalo, NJ, and Ottawa will be tough for ANY team. The Eastern Conference is a bitch, quite frankly.

I'm worried the Devils peaked too soon.

Back at the end of January, they were 19 points behind the Flyers. Then they finished up the season with an 11 game winning streak, taking the Division title.

I'm REALLY hoping they didn't peak too soon.

I would chalk a lot of it up to Brodeur being a "clinch time" goaltender. I would imagine this was his warm up for another strong playoff run on his part. Brodeur is a priceless asset in the playoffs. I don't think NJ will go all the way, but I think they will be strong.

He's definately the guy I want in goal in the clutch. I just hope our Defense is up to the pressure.
