Tempers flare as Joey Logano does a bump and run on Martin Truex Jr. to win at Martinsville and lock himself in the Final Four of the Playoffs. Meanwhile, Kyle Busch stretches his lead in the standings with a fourth place finish while Kevin Harvick drops to third in the standings after struggling with a 10th place finish.

"He may have won the battle, but he ain't winning the damn war." - Martin Truex Jr.

"I'm happy I don't have a baseball bat or a jackhammer right now." - Cole Pearn, Martin Truex Jr.'s crew chief

"Lost a few spots there at the end, racing [Ryan] Newman. His car gets as wide as his neck there sometimes..." - Kevin Harvick

"It wouldn't surprise me that teammates wreck each other, so we were hoping that that would happen so we would get up there and get a shot to race for the win. So I kinda held Truex a little bit up more than maybe I should have, but he got chickenshitted, anyway. So, you know, that's racing, I guess. - Kyle Busch

We'll get used to it, like when Jeff Gordon stopped wearing DuPont rainbow colors, when Kevin Harvick's #29 went from black/silver Goodwrench to yellow Pennzoil, or when Mark Martin switched from Valvoline to Viagra.

Okay, that last one was not a good example.

    Breaking News

With the demise of Furniture Row Racing by the end of the season, 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Champion Martin Truex Jr. and crew chief Cole Pearn have signed to join the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 19 team in 2019. Where this leaves Daniel Suarez is anyone's guess.

And now for the elephant in the room.

Three days after winning the Texas race, Kevin Harvick and his team have been served an L1 penalty for an unapproved rear spoiler discovered during post-race inspection. As a result, the No. 4 team loses 40 driver and owner points and crew chief Rodney Childers is suspended for the last two races. As the win is declared encumbered, Harvick loses his eligibility in the Final Four and must regain it at Phoenix.

Highlights from the 2018 NASCAR Awards.

To no surprise, Chase Elliott wins NASCAR's Most Popular Driver Award. His father Bill still holds the record for most number of awards (16). Dale Earnhardt Jr. would have beaten that record had he not retired last year.

After winning the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Championship, Martin Truex Jr. says goodbye to Furniture Row Racing, the team that helped him achieve that goal. With FRM gone, Truex moves to Joe Gibbs Racing next season.

Despite not winning the championship, Kevin Harvick had his best season with eight wins and the All-Star Race.

Love him or hate him, Joey Logano is this year's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Champion.

Well, the second worst-kept secret in 2019 Silly Season (after Martin Truex Jr.'s jump to Joe Gibbs Racing) has been revealed. Kurt Busch is no longer with Stewart-Haas Racing. And after months of speculation, it's been confirmed that he will replace Jamie McMurray in the Chip Ganassi Racing No. 1 Chevrolet. Furthermore, it is believed that 2019 will be the Outlaw's final year in NASCAR.

Kurt Busch will not return to Stewart-Haas Racing in 2019
Kurt Busch and sponsor move to Chip Ganassi Racing for 2019
