When I was younger I found a copy of issue #2 in a 2nd hand book store... I can confirm that as of 1995 submitted drawings were being returned to sender. :(  Anyone know what the other issues contained?

OK, that's just awesome. Not reading the text, I see:
    1. Draw a boxy stick figure with wings and a thing on its arm.
    2. Draw Predaking on top of that
    3. Make that big heavy stick figure from the first step fade away.
    4. Make your outlines thinner somehow.

I fail to see how this teaches you how to draw Transformers haha. Nice find, though.

I have the current "How to Draw TFs" but I have to say..there is a big jump from Step 1 to Step 2.. maybe there should have been a Step 1A,1B,1C, etc. :lol

Here are the covers of all four. The first might have also had Megatron, but it's late and I don't want to go digging through boxes right now.

Did the guide just skip a step... or several?

I really should start practicing drawing robots though...

I had the first issue when I was in 5th grade with Optimus on the cover. It has similarly useless directions. (1.) draw a stickman---->2.) Draw Optimus Prime! You did it). Needless to say, to this day, I can't draw Optimus. Nice find though

    Does anyone own this book?

    You Can Draw Transformers

I'd be interested to know if the instructions it contains are as hilarious as the one above.

I've got it, and I'd say that the DK book is much more thorough than that in teaching someone how to draw ANY Transformers (rather than just specific characters, which given how many there are is probably understandable - although it does pick out a couple of the 'figureheads' like Optimus and Megatron, and uses several others as examples).

I love how step one for Predaking starts out with drawing a fairy with an arm cannon and a mug of coffee. Like the weapons division of Heaven on a snack break.
Personally I've never bothered much with 'How to draw' books because they're all kinda rubbish and I taught myself well enough without, but I did recently buy that Manga book showing how to draw transforming robots by Plex(?), the Power Rangers robot guys. It's an interesting book to flick through.
That's not to say I wouldn't want those Transformers 'How to draw' books in my TF collection though.

Almost forgot that I even had these. And I'm surprised TFWiki didn't have more info on them other than just issue #2. Also didn't know there were 6 issues, although TFWiki has blank pages for issues 3-6. I have #1-4, and for some reason I can't even recall how/where I got them. Maybe a special order or something through Previews.

But I can't find them in storage at the moment, sorry. I've been doing inventory on my collections and the garage is all in disarray right now. Someone else will have to list the details from the other issues.

    Hmmmmm....I think there needs to be a Step 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E....before you get to Step 2.

    Edit:
    Just saw moreprimeland's post. :)
