New season, new thread!
1st post yay!
Yeah, even though it was a preseason game, I'm glad the A's finished up strong against the Giants.
Take that suckers!
3:35PM today. I'm gonna park my ass in front of the TV.
Last night was sad
Sad my ass. You guys have a trophy to cry on.
Of course, but still not the way you want to see your team open up the season
Fine. Give us your trophy then.
I will be there on Weds though, so I am hoping for a win!
yes! baseball starts today for the Red Sox!
I wanna go see the Red Sox this summer. I wonder how their new Japanese pitcher will do?
I didn't get the MLB DirectV package this season. I just sense that this season will be entirely frustrating from the get-go.
Target #1: Joe Blanton.
Target #2: Bobby Crosby.
Target #3: Esteban Loaiza.
Perform, or ship out.
Fixed for me. And I have big thoughts on Travis Buck.
Chavy was hurt last season!!! Come on!!!!
Chavvy has been pissing me off for a while now. His wife screwed with his head.
Hurt so that he could perform well at defense but not offense?
Batting average = his weight FTL.
$66 million for defense is overpaying.
Well, I'll give you his wife. Everytime he talks about his love for the Angels, I want to exhale liquid. As long as he gets back to the .280-35 HR range, I'll be happy.
And Travis Buck, they say....., is a young Jason Giambi in the making.
The Barton kid shouldn't be ignored either. He can flat out hit. The power will grow, but he's garnered scout comparisons to Lance Berkman, with a little less power. I've also heard Tony Gwynn too. I'll take that, but we'll see.
Pitching. Pitching is what concerns me. Marcus MacBeth is the only guy getting any buzz in the system, and I don't think that's a positive thing.
The A's need to use this draft and their compensation picks and grab some arms, stat.
Sad for Twins fans. There radio guy for 45 years Herb died the day before there opening game. He was great, even if they always came in with static here.
And Haren takes #15 this year. Hopefully we'll see Tim Hudson numbers.
