$25 mil/year for Saban do it. I'll pay double my tuition dream big LSU. I'm fine with Herman and he's who I'd want, Jimbo isn't gonna happen, and for the love of god don't touch Lane Kiffin.
There have been a lot of wild finishes today. Tennessee beat Georgia with a last minute Hail Mary. UNC won with their kickers first 50+ yard field goal. Michigan State just lost Indiana in overtime after missing a field goal. I picked a damn good Penn State game to go to. This was my first college football game, and it isn't one I'm going to forget. Trace McSorley did a great job managing the game today with over 300 yards passing, several key runs, two touchdowns, and not turning the ball over. Barkley was less present in today's game, but he stepped up to the plate big time with that overtime touchdown run on their first offensive snap. The defense was a lot better today. They still have some issues on defense, but they made big stops when they had to. That was a great game, and I am really glad I went. That hit on Joey Julius was uncalled for, and that Minnesota player deserved to get his ass ejected. The broadcast doesn't really capture just how late that hit was since it happened after the touchback and to someone who wasn't even close to the ball.
The Buffs are definitely on the Rise and going from losing a lot of games to winning. They roughed up my other alma mater...hehe.
With FSU losing to UNC, I used to be friends with somebody and FSU was his life. I am sure he is still angry about it right now.
Not a good week predictions wise. Louisville should've won. But with Watson playing out of his mind, that is to be expected.
That was a nice win for Penn State. Maryland is a good team, so I thought it would be a lot closer. The run game was just unstoppable today. The defense even looked better. They're going to need this bye week coming up for some players to heal before the big Ohio State game. These cheap shots on Joey Julius are just getting ridiculous, and I'm starting to think it's going to take more than ejections to get them to stop. Speaking of Joey Julius, kudos to him for opening up about his struggles with eating disorders and depression this week. That was a brave thing to do.
I am not really bummed out about Miami losing to FSU. I missed the second half of the game, I had to go to work. A guy at work told me that Miami lost by one point.
I'm really hoping for Penn State to pull off an upset against Ohio State tomorrow. They started out rough, but they have looked a lot better in these last two games. Add in the fact that they're coming off of a bye week, have home field advantage (in a "whiteout" game too), and Wisconsin almost beating OSU last week, it is starting to look better.
HOLY SHIT! PENN STATE WINS! What a great upset, and it couldn't have happened against a better team. I've been critical of the defense all year, but they were magnificent tonight, and you have to hand it to the amazing crowd for disrupting the Ohio State offense. That blocked field goal touchdown return was just an incredible play for the special teams to make. Trace McSorley was also better than the statistics showed. A lot of those balls were dropped by the receivers due to weather conditions, and that 5 play, 90 yard drive brought us back in the game. Bye bye road winning streak Ohio State!
After somehow finally managing to calm down a bit, I just realized how much Penn State's win tonight shakes up the Big 10. Penn State has a very good chance of winning the rest of their games this year. The only thing that worries me are road games since our only two losses came on away games, but the matchups do seem winnable. Michigan is playing good on all sides of the ball, and I think they will beat Ohio State as well. So that would put both PSU and OSU at 10-2.
I was watching that game last night, and I was trying to figure out if Oregon needs Chip Kelly back more or if Chip Kelly needs Oregon more.
Les Miles is looking for a job, lol. Love how all the commentators that were scolding LSU for finally firing good ole Les are singing a different tune now.
