Sorry to raise this thread but I've recently taken intrest to this show and I was just wondering, Is it ending anytime soon?
If you look 4 posts up there's an article about how Steve Carell says he will probably only do one more season.
The season finale was really a joke. I've been on other boards and everyone says, basically, that it didn't have that season finale vibe; seemed like any other episode. This show is tanking, and if next season is Carrell's last, then I hope they make it a good one.
What would everybody consider the best season because I've only watched about 4 or 5 episodes and I need to start off with a good season.
I can't pick a favorite season really but I agree this last one had to be the worst so far. A lot of the episodes just felt a little uneventful, too much expanding on one tiny thing (like the koi pond incident) but it's not too far gone. I'll still happily watch another year. If Steve is going, I think they need to end it. Hopefully the episodes will be in top form. At least Creed is always hilarious~
Seasons 2 and 3 were the show's prime, IMO, although I still liked Season 4 and Season 5 was alright too. I have to agree that this season was pretty disappointing. Since next season is Carell's last (and hopefully the show's as well, it can't continue on without him) I hope they make it a good one
Season's 2 and 3 were by far the peak of the series. That being said, the show is still better than 95% of TV out there. Dwight is in top form still, I would actually still watch it if Michael left and they made Dwight Branch Manager.
I wouldn't take too much stock into Carrell's comments. Seems more like he's really saying "Next season will be my last (unless NBC throws me a hefty pay raise)." And The Office is NBC's premiere comedy series, they'll give him a pay raise. I've enjoyed this season a lot. The show is in something of a transitional phase trying to recapture the will they/won't they relationship of Pam and Jim with Andy and the new secretary girl. Problem is, a show gets older, viewers expect each season to top the last one. This season of the Office certainly hasn't done that, but it has consistently been entertaining each week.
I too are enjoying this season of the office, I don't really understand why everybody hates on this new season, But I guess thats because I started off with season 6.

The Office is truly one of my all time favorite shows, and the reason for it is the cast/characters. This reboot sounds like all new characters. The only positive I got from the articles is that if it happens it sounds like Greg Daniels will be involved. Other than that, I'll just keep watching the original.
