Maybe its a good thing cause maybe it will help cut the pollution due to not needing to travel all those unnessecary 5,234 miles or whatever? lol.

Im gonna come out and and say conspiracy tho...I like that answer better than global warming lol.

The only thing about this that makes me sad is that the Polar Bear population may drop by 2/3. :(

There may be a WW3 over the passage, what with all the billions involved and the resources it offers. Don't be surprised if old allies turn to enemy because of it.

And it's so nice to see the end of the world close at hand. Wait til all the ice melt in the North and South poles. All the oil in the world won't be able to save the humanity from possible extinction then.

I'm comfortable in Wisconsin. Anyone on the east, west, and gulf coast may have problems when the oceans rise several feet.

It belongs to the Russians, obviously.

They have a little underwater flag and everything.

That pretty much sums up what I was about to say.

The Russians being Capitalists is just a phase. They'll be back to communism soon enough, and World War III will become the worst of World Wars.

So, if Russia owns the North Pole seabed just because they planted a flag there, does that mean the United States owns the Moon?

No, I believe that the UN agree that no nation could claim a stellar body. Might be wrong on exactly who's agreement it is...

Anyone who seriously thinks the US and Canada will come to blows over this is smoking some good stuff. :D  In any case, remember that part of that passage involves the Bering Straight, which passes by Alaska/Russia, so it's not like Canada COULD have sole control of it anyways.

And before people get TO political here, keep in mind this has been a point of contention before our current president too. It has major economic ramifications no matter who our president would be, so dont start asigning blame or motivations yet.

i find it tragic that the countries aren't worried about why they ice is melting, rather they are preoccupied with how to make money out of it.

i proclaim the earth derelict. time to move on.
