TRF is the military group in this movie that is dressed in grey and black and has all the military vehicles with the upside down V on them. The units initials are TRF. And it's been highly questioned if they are good guys or bad guys and possibly working with the Decepticons.

Where as these guys in the pic I've posted here are Navy Seals and are good guys in the movie.

Hope these guys don't take all the screen time from the Bots. That's what I like about AOE compared to the 3 earlier films where the absence of any human military unit gave way for more robot-on-robot fighting scenes.

OMG, man...we're literally talking about a LIVE ACTION franchise that's steadily allowed for INCREASING robot presence and centrality over the course of ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, count 'em, ALMOST FIVE FILMS NOW.

Can we ALL still please STOP complaining about the stuff they're ALREADY meeting us halfway towards, let alone PREEMPTIVELY?!?

    I mean, COME ON NOW.

    Gift horses and all that.

Agree with you mate. Loved how it was just the Bots in AOE with no military to take the attention. Its great Lennox is back, but I prefer the rogue feel of the Autobots that AOE had. It gave the Bots more purpose. Plus I'm not a fan of the military in the TF films in genera.

And no one is complaining, just simply stating a preference.

The military presence has me really worried. DOTM's final battle is tedious for me to get through because you to endure these drawn out scenes of soldiers skydiving, soldiers getting stuck in a building, soldiers shooting at protoforms while the autobots get completely sidelined. ROTF had the same problem as well.

TF07's final battle had a good balance of robot/human action and I loved AOE's final battle for mainly being bot vs bot action. I don't mind little stuff like Cade vs Savoy or Cade helping out Prime but not drawn out huge segments that sidelines the autobots.

Oh, let me also add that autobots were so sidelined in DOTM that we missed an entire scene of the team getting captured by Soundwave, Barricade and co.

It looked to me like the films were moving backwards until AOE, where there were no human soldiers as protagonists. It started with the humans barely managing to take out any 'Cons in TF1, then by DOTM, you get foot soldiers taking out so many 'Cons, it feels like Optimus is the only 'Bot who actually needs to be there.

That's just how things work in general, though.

No one knows wtf they're doing at first, but then they get better at it over time. Especially with a little help from someone who's already good at it.

It's...kind of a major plot point in ALL the movies.

If Bruce Brazos just randomly killed Laserbeak the first time they met then you'd have half a point, but be didn't. He crapped his pants and broke his nose. The guys killing Transformers were soldiers trained by Autobots to do so and people using special weapons and/or tactics to do just that, so it's really a non-issue being blown out of proportion but w/e.

    >_>

Whether there's a story reason for it is irrelevant. The bottom line is that no one goes to see a Transformers final battle starring the U.S military which is what Bay forgot in ROTF and DOTM.

Yeah, what Chris James said. Plus, the idea of human foot soldiers taking down groups of 'Cons is just insulting. Not only does it downplay villains who're usually portrayed as being above paying humanity any attention, beyond stealing our energy, but it makes the Autobots irrelevant. If humans can so easily beat everyone but the big guys, why is any 'Bot other than Optimus even in these films?

Plus, it doesn't exactly make sense in-universe. I mean, TF technology seems to get less advanced each film. Remember when Blackout was able to wipe out groups of humans with a single blast? What happened to that? Or Jazz using his magnet thing to disarm S7 agents? Heck, what happened to lasers? Why is TF tech going backwards? Why aren't the 'Cons getting better at killing humans?

you'll never get a live action TF movie without military involvement. pure & simple. even AoE had a military force in it.

I want to know how we STILL haven't gotten the likes of Warpath or Powerglide in these movies. Hound is sorta on the right path, but you can have pretty amazing action sequences with things like tanks and jets, allow the military to shine without completely shutting out the robots these movies exist for.
