NHL Free Agency 2018 winners and losers: Maple Leafs and Flyers make a splash on Day 1, Isles lose big
Tavares' homecoming is going to be interesting. It's an odd move for the Islanders. The Leafs unloaded JVR, Bozak, and Plekanec (who went back to the Canadiens). Winnipeg also looks like they let go of Stastny and Mason (and Hutchinson, which leaves them with "just" their starter). I'm not really sure why the Kings paid for Kovalchuk to come back form the KHL, but I don't know as to how well he was doing in Russia.
I was hoping more big news from the Panthers. They sighed Hoffman and just sign goalie Mike Hutchinson on a one year deal. Tallon did promised several months ago that he will sign some big names. I hope it was not only Hoffman.
I'm a huge Canucks fan, but that Flying Skate jersey is barf-tastic. Well, of course they are - they won't spend money. It's like the Leafs of old. Melnyk is not the owner this team needs.
