Like the title says, this thread is about all NFL blitz games past and present. (Does not include blitz the league)

    Let the discussion begin!

I play Blitz the league and love it... I don't have much else to say.

I bought the new one for PS3. It's not too bad. Plays well enough, but severely lacks in the presentation department. Not quite up to the standards set by NBA Jam revival.

Oh poop! How I skipped over the word "Not" is beyond me.

In that case, the last Blitz (non-league) game I played was on N64. Wishing the newest one had a PC port.

I agree with the lack of (great looking) visuals. That and the lack of late hits (and booing) make it not worth it for me.

As for me, my favorite has to be NFL blitz 2000 on DC.

All in all Starfire, if you've played the new one, what do you think? Would you say it's worth a buy at least when it gets discounted down?

I'd probably buy it if it wasn't for the fact that you can't change quarter length. That would bug the hell outta me.

When it's discounted down probably, but the main problem for me is that, it doesn't have the same feel (or thrill) that the original games had.

I kinda agree here. This seems almost like an HD port of an older version rather than a whole new experience. I'm still having fun, but the lack of pizazz makes it feel a bit outdated.

The only reason I kind of know the rules to Football is because of the NFL Blitz game for Gamecube. That game was fucking ridiculous.

I tried watching a real game after that and was all like "Come on guys, where are all the 70 yard passes?"

NFL Blitz 2000 on PlayStation was the last video game I was really, really good at. I spent far too many hours playing that. After it I started getting more into the Madden games.
