As much as I dislike the way Revan's hood was designed, the same approach would work for Ronan. I was thinking maybe having the shoulder pads actually molded as part of the bicep joints would work(as shown on Ragnarok Thor) but in this case it might not, since it looks like the shoulder pads in the movie are connected to the hood.

Another alternative could've been soft goods for the hood while the shoulder pads could've been attached above the torso. However soft goods might've not been able to replicate the look as good.

Classic Ronan actually has been released...it was the BAF for Hasbro's F4
wave from 2007. It's a bit dated now.

The hell did they do to the mayor from Halloweentown?

God dammit, I wish my Target would actually carry new stuff. All they've got is a Tombstone, 3 Speed Demons, 1 female Beetle, 3 Havoks, and then some of the Deadpool guys.

I have that figure! LOL! But I find it rather ‘modern’?

I prefer the cheesy ‘70s-‘80s too...I know, I’m too ‘old school’!

Ronan, wave 3 Terrorcons and Doc Ock wave all dropped in my pile of loot today. Cancelled Ronan and the Terrorcons, I'll pick them up later. Shipped the Spider-Man wave and it should be here early next week. Looking forward to getting a comic Elektra.

I'm not sure Dini's BTAS did the reigniting - the Batman 89 movie was a huge success just a few years earlier - and DC felt a cartoon was in order to help keep the kids interested. That movie had its own influences on the show - a focus on more solo adventures (as opposed to the more Batman & Robin focus of earlier Batman series), not to mention the now classic theme. I would credit the movie as a huge factor in re-igniting Batman for the global audience, and the animated series for continuing it as well as introducing a younger generation to Batman.

Anyway back to Marvel talk - that storm looks awesome! While I wasn't really set on making a run of the X-Men team that featured that look - looks like I might consider it if I can get Storm at retail.

Jesus, $30 though? As if the $5 initial price increase wasn't bad enough.

I agree with @Star Saber that the '89 movie is what ignited everything for the mainstream but just like with most comic book characters, I think the setting and groundwork was all done before in comic books. @LigerPrime mentioned TDKR and I think that and other comic books is what influenced the movie and made Batman a serious contender in mainstream media where he was mostly depicted as a joke in previous shows. I guess the Superman series of the 50's is too old for most to remember but it was a pretty big deal even when I was growing up in the 70s and 80s and it lasted a lot longer than the Batman show that came after it.

But yeah, back to Marvel Legends...My spiral down the MCU drain has continued this morning when I finally saw Ragnarok Loki on clearance and picked it up. Been eyeing it since I've succumbed to MCU figures and it's a pretty important character and it comes with his horned helmet and we still don't have a classic comic version.

@djmajin That Hydra team looks good! That gives me justification to keep my order and also get the SDCC one if I can so I can do some head swapping.

Just for sanity sake...and my wallet's I have decided to limit myself to completing...

the 80s X-Men - which after I get punk Storm still needs a Colossus, Nightcrawler, Rogue and Kitty
the Avengers trinity - of which I already have Classic Iron Man and Cap Wolf. Just need a solid Thor
and lastly I would love to piece together a Spider-man and his Amazing Friends set. Spidey is already covered but there has never been a Firestar and none of the Iceman figures match the style of the cartoon. But I keep hopin'. :)

Hasbro QC not exactly my Friend right now.......

    image.jpeg

Both knees with blown pins so it's essentially fucked straight out of the box. And to add insult to money wasted the 'Squatch Arm BAF piece has a similarly blown pin at the elbow making the whole purchase pointless.

This is the third Legend this year with broken parts at purchase, and one of those was the Thanos Torso so that was especially galling and expensive to rectify.

I love this Line and the Characters it's giving me, but this kind of shit can dampen down the fun of getting new figures.

I've bought several figures recently like that. Mostly the MCU ones. They seem to be made out of gummy material, compared to the comic ones.

I feel ya. My Sabertooth that I just got has some weird knee joints...like it's warped. But I don't have that weird jaw gap that I've seen pics of. I don't know if I like that trade off or not :lol
