Again with the MP-50 thing. So we're up to what, MP-42 now. Do you really think we're going to get another 7 releases between now and the end of next year? No way. And again Takara don't give a hoot about linking characters with numbering.

Ah, I see. So you’re skeptical that the 35th anniversary project is actually a v3 MP Convoy and not something outside of the MP line.

I hope we get more news on that soon so we can all find out! :)

We're up to 43. And we advanced seven numbers in 2016, MP-27 to MP-33, so if 43 does come out in December, it's not unreasonable to speculate MP-50 could come out next December.

Though I don't know about waiting until the anniversary is almost over before releasing the new Optimus. That seems cruddy.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll probably just wait for Astro Magnum. Trying to cut down on multiples of the same mold.

Is the neck on your Shockwave clicked all the way up? Hard to tell from that angle but it looks like his neck isn’t extended. Many people seem to miss that step and it helps a little with his height.

You make a good point about the colour. I wanted a darker purple like a lot of people and I will most likely get MP-29+ especially if the symbols on the arms are painted on. I hate stickers. But I’m not crazy about the dark purple paint on his gun arm hose and I’m starting to wonder if Takara went with the lighter shade in the end with MP-29 because it may look better? They most likely made many prototypes in different shades of purple and went with that colour for a reason. Possibly just to kill our wallets later! :)

I mostly agree TT doesn't care about numbers...but they might care a little for Prime. I don't know if MP-10 was just a happy coincidence, but I could see them wanting to do another Optimus at some fairly meaningful number. ...if there's even a v3 Prime coming this soon. I'm still not 100% sold whatever that tease was is for sure another MP Prime. It certainly could be...but it certainly could be something else, too.

    re: MP-29+

I think the color looks better, but I don't love the pink hands & blaster. The best bet would probably be MP-29+ with the MP-29 hands/blaster. IF I were to buy MP-29+, though, I'd probably be looking to sell 29 to cut my loss...at which point I'd be trading one inaccuracy for another...or trying to sell 29 with pink hands. Guessing that wouldn't go over super well, though. Good news is I feel a little better about just sticking with 29 and my $200.

I'm getting the + but keeping my original, too. I think he looks great and it's the color he was in The Ultimate Doom pt 3, one of the best animated eps in G1. Paco Grande asked about the neck on yours already, but I can't help notice the waist looks like it's not extended, too, unless it's just the low angle. Mine stands a little taller relative Megatron and Soundwave, so it might be worth checking.

Btw, haven't been able to stop thinking about Prime v3 since the tease so long ago... Gunship aside, since the detailing of the interior of the trailer was never shown in the show (it was shown from a low angle the few times it split open), I'd love it if they skewed even closer to the G1 toy there than MP-10.

I'm sure it's the low angle. I have the neck/head full out and clicked in. I popped the head off a couple of times to make sure it was nice and tight. The waist I'm sure is all the way out as well. It would be a pain to go and fetch him out and readjust him lol. I do have all these guys in a wider A stance so that could play in the height misconception. Although after going through Optibotimus's reviews of and taking some screen grabs my guys look all to be in correct height. I'm sure its the angle of the photo taken, but thanks for trying to make sure these guys look their best.

I'll have to check that episode out. For those that don't know tubi tv app offers free shows and movies via your phone or smart device at home and Transformers is on there. Its how I watch it. The only annoying thing is there are ads every now and then, but its free.

For those that care here are some screen grabs from the episode (lighter color shockwave) @Dean ML mentioned earlier. This was a good 3part series.

That ep had the involvement of famous animator, the great Masami Obari! A few other s1 eps did, too. Some super dynamic stuff!

And yes, in the higher angle shot you shared Shockwave looks right. Hope I didn't come off being too intrusive! ;)

A Universe-based redeco would feel utterly superfluous for me (I've stayed away from Universe 1.0 toys that weren't new characters), but yeah I'd probably buy the damn thing anyways if it came out in MP form. Really liking the MP-32 mold helps.

    Completely agreed.

The answer to that conundrum is KFC KP-16. Right pink and fully articulated. Win/win. Gonna get a set myself I think along with the Starscream set for Meteor.

No not at all. I appreciate you making sure these guys look right.

The first season is/was fun to watch even as an adult. Season two is where it gets iffy for me as an adult. The movie is still great though.

Definitely agree about s2, though it mostly comes down to animation quality for me. Of course, s2 is where AKOM and the Filipino studio started contributing, even though the bulk of the work still belonged to Toei, whose work ranged from average (Attack of the Autobots, Masquerade, Megatron's Master Plan pt1, Desertion of the Dinobots pt1, etc) to outstanding (Day of the Machines, Atlantis Arise!, Megatron's Master Plan pt2, Desertion of the Dinobots pt2, etc).

Speaking of The Movie, still hoping TT has at least one figure planned to release next year as part of the Japanese 30th anni of that amazing flick. Arcee, Kup, and Galvatron are at the top of the heap for me!

I dig those boots, too. Not only do they get rid of the thin little ballet slippers, but they bring him up to Soundwave height rather than Starscream height...which to me is correct.

Looks like a toon Soundwave would be a different shade of blue, that probably goes better with Mp29:D .
