I like the costume design -but I hate the gun.
Unless it's Frank Castle behind the mask, then the gun makes sense.

Wow. That's definitely striking. But then, it is Alex Ross.

Wait wait wait.....did I miss something? Last I heard Captain America was dead. Then again, that was quite some time ago, and I don't really keep up to date with the comic books like I did as a kid :D .

Black Ops realism from the waist down, Shiny super hero from the waist up.

I think this look will be very hard to pull off, although the writer is great and I'm sure it'll make a great story. The incorporation of the triangular shield design on the chest is great. Gun toting, cyborg, ex-coldwar assassin Captain America feels odd.

Wait wait wait wait, I know where this is going! We get the one in a half black costume, next comes the kid clone, then the black guy in armor, then the half robot.

    So the short list is:
    Frank Castle (too gunny)
    Clint Barton (not super enough)
    Bucky Barns (too robotic)

I think they should have just had Captains America and put a time share on the shield.

Then Steve Rogers comes back to life but he somehow grew a mullet while he was dead. :lolol

Don't like it. You all know this is a temporary fix, and the classic will return, so I'm not going to really bitch about it.

I like the homage to the original triangular shield, and think it's about time he upgraded to some internet age materials.

I don't like the extra shoulder stars. Too busy. Cap's costume is already screaming "America!", and doesn't need to oversell it.

I don't like the black - Cap doesn't need the streamlining. I really don't like it on the arms. It's a symbolic costume, and should stand for the best of the US, even in (or especially in) the worst times. Add in the gun, and it seems the new costume is trying to convey a not-so-subtle message. It's just so... USAgent (or The Captain before that).

I don't like the short gloves. The old, longer gloves just made the forearm more dynamic, drawing attention to the hands, where now I find my eyes being drawn to the elbow region.
As for the gun, I also don't like it. I don't have a gun problem personally - I'm all for a firearm in every home. But these are SUPER heroes. Cap has never needed a gun before, and it cheapens the character to give him one. Logically speaking, it'd make more sense for other heroes like Spidey and Mr. Fantastic and Batman to pack heat, but doing so would diminish them.

The costume looks pretty cool, I thought making the original triangle shield a key design element was clever. But part of me feels like Ross ripped off his own design for Citizen Steel here (take an existing red-white-and-blue hero, make his costume metallic).

I also think it should be Bucky under the mask, but then again, that seems so obvious that they may not want to do it.

In the end it really won't matter who's behind the mask...because that costume is ass.

My vote is for Rick Jones. It would explain the firearms.

That's actually a pretty good idea. If anyone deserves it as much as Bucky, it's Rick. He's risked his life just as much as any superhero.

I can see Rick. he hasn't done much in the last few years since Cap Marvel was canceled. He'd be a good choice. And I love the guns. I want to see Cap shoot someone.

Gotta disagree with you there, especially where Spider-Man is concerned. Spidey is frequently underrated and underestimated. He'd never need to carry weapons. The extra spider-arms that Stark gave him were nice, but he didn't need those either.
