I searched, only to find the previous anime figure and statue threads locked due to rude comments and/or people not adhering to the rules. [Mods, if I missed a rule or something prohibiting these, all apologies. I did look first prior to posting.]

So, instead of trying to cram discussion of these statues into the Figma or Revoltech threads, I thought...well, let's try one more and see if we can behave.

Let's keep it work safe. (please?)

To start things off, current pre-orders for me include these:

I can't wait for Rin to get released, it seems that this figure has been "coming soon" for far too long at this point. This was the first statue that broke my will to avoid purchasing these.

This one was me not even bothering to pretend I could avoid this purchase. :D  Color, balance, sculpt...everything works here.

    Sold out...everywhere.

HLJ was the last to open pre-orders and I think those lasted less than a day.

Good luck with the hunt dude. I actually waited around the computer the day HLJ was opening their orders to nab her.

Edit: some more pre-orders went up: http://www.hlj.com/product/GSC96551

Rin finally arrived from Japan today. Very nice statue here with few if any issues.

The gloss looking so shiny seems to be an effect of the flash and the sun. Don't get me wrong, the figure definitely has a gloss finish on the fabric portions of it, but in-person that effect is greatly diminished.

My criticism of this figure kind of hits on some of the smaller details. One of the extra hands holds her jewels that she throws. The paint on these is ok, but between the jewels and fingers, it's questionable where paint will land, with the jewel or with the hand.

One other thing that I've hidden in these pictures is the way her foot connects to the base. You can kind of see it in the first pic, but the connection point is just a smooth chunk of an otherwise rocky base. There's no reason it couldn't have been blended better.

The good points of the figure are easy to notice and I won't go into it too much because both my photos and the stock photos for this figure really speak to those points. However, I will say that this figure does not have a "bad" side. No matter how you place her on your shelf, you're getting an eye full of sexy tsundere. Very clever how the twist in the pose makes for a very versatile statue.

Luka's the best. She makes Miku look like a trashy skank.

    Somehow I missed your post...

She definitely looks better with gear imo.

    Nice figure though.

I'm not planning on getting either of those, but they do look nice! I like that they're not overly top heavy like so many anime chicks end up being.

Bringing this thread back from the dead, as I've been buying/ordering a bunch of figures lately.

With Trude just going up for preorder, and Shirley being reissued, I've decided to stop waffling and go all-in on Alter's Strike Witches series. Already have Yoshika and Sanya, with Mio and Eila already preordered, and luckily Minna was still available, so now it's just a case of playing the waiting game for Erica, Perrine, Lynette, and Lucchini to go up for preorder.

I also picked up the Four Leaves/Kotobukiya Nymph recently, as I'd been very tempted by it to start with, and it was on sale (and Hobby Search were running a 50% off shipping sale at the time, so she was even more of a bargain), and she arrived a few weeks back and is utterly adorable:

She's also pretty damn huge. I think I'd idly noted that she was 1/6 scale back when she first came out, but I'd completely forgotten about that until she arrived and I realized how big she is (that's figma Drossel just out of frame to the right, to give you some sense of scale).

She looks really nice dude. Can you get some better pictures showing her skirt pull? Not to perv it, but that's an interesting point on the figure.

On to some pics to liven this up:

    Sure:

Took a couple of full-body shots while I was had stuff set up (meaning the backdrop/reflectors I hastily cobbled together on my desk with some spare plaplate I had sitting around; I really need to find space/get stuff together for a real, properly-lit area I can take photos in. And get a mini-tripod so I can take longer exposures without ruining the shot with shaky hands).

One with all the optional/removable bits attached:

And one with the mantle and wings removed:

The collar is technically optional too, but not having that on would just be wrong. You can have her with just the wings without the mantle, too, which probably works better (taking the wings off leaves gaps in her back where they plug in, but looks fine from the front; the mantle just sits in place).
