Post Pictures of the Beauty and Wrath of Mother Nature!

Today, while working around the garden, I spotted a few interesting insects. Some I have no idea exactly what specific species of insect they are.

Here is a caterpillar that was near the kitchen door.

I think this is a moth. The way it's 4 wings rested reminded me of an F-15 Eagle.

Here's a really unusual caterpillar that was on one of the plants. It's covered in white fuzzy fur and has a light yellow underbelly.

Some type of flying insect. I have no idea what it is.

    A fairly big black ant.

All these natural wonders wee short lived however, as I had to run inside because we were suddenly hit with a very severe thunder storm.

You really can't see the lightning well, but it flashed every second or two, followed by the loudest thunder I've ever heard. So loud, that the house shook a little, and my house is solid brick.

The rainstorm lasted well over 2 hours at my house, flooded the streets, had water flowing over the sidewalks, and even flooded parts of my backyard.

Unfortunately, there were no rainbows after this storm, as there usually are whenever a sever storm around us dissipates.

this spring my city was flooded higher than it has been since the early 1900s. i think it got all the way up to 8 or 9 meters above sea level.

under that water is a four-lane expressway and a parking lot.

an elevated part of what we call "the green" that overlooks the water.

there were people canoing and kayaking in the city streets

lucky for me, my house is up in the hills, a few hundred feet above the water :D

It's raining just as bad, if not worse, today, than it was yesterday!

Already we've had 5 severe thunderstorms pass through our area. What the hell nature!

lol pretty much all of June my province got completely ransacked by severe thunderstorms...i have no idea where they all came from, but they all came at once. we had a huge poplar tree in our yard completely uprooted (i watched it fall it was pretty scary) and a maple tree in our back yard split down the middle just from wind. it was pretty crazy.

This use to be an Arby's till a small tornado touched down and wiped it out. You can see on the far left, where most of the building fell onto the business next to it.
