In a YouTube interview with Neil Kaplan (RID Optimus), Kaplan stated he is the Roger Moore of Optimus Primes. I disagree.

In celebration of the new Bond movie, I shall see the parallels with the Bond actors with the the Optimus voice actors. Let's begin.
    Sean Connery= Peter Cullen
    Tim Dalton= Neil Kaplan
    Pierce Brosnan= Gary Chalk
    Daniel Craig= David Kaye

    Agree or Disagree? Please explain.

    I disagree with:

    Sean Connery= Peter Cullen

Peter Cullen has never picked the category of Anal Bum Cover on Celebrity Jeopardy (snl)

Like how Peter Cullen is the definite Optimus, Connery is the defenite Bond to many.

Another question is which TF (of any one continunity) is like James Bond?

    Jazz? Nightbeat? Springer?

Since I have no idea if this is referring to careers or characters, I'll just go with how I understand the comparison.

If anything, I'd say Kaplan is the George Lazenby of Optimus Primes, since he only had one shot at voicing the character and, in the grand scheme of things, is largely forgotten.

Garry Chalk's probably the Roger Moore of Primes. And with the Unicron Trilogy being held in such low regard by the fandom, it sort of parallels the fact that some of Moore's movies are memorable for all the wrong reasons (a pidgeon doing a double-take? Bond running across crocodiles to safety?!)

Kaye, I think, is the Daniel Craig of Primes as Animated and Casino Royale were both created to breathe new life into the franchises by doing things differently. Their characters even compare, being inexperienced.

And of course, Peter Cullen's definitely the Sean Connery. The first, and widely considered the best.

Neil Kaplan would be Lazenby, yeah. Obscure and largely forgotten. I can also agree with Cullen being Connery - the definitive original - and Kaye being Craig - the new guy with a lot of potential.

Chalk would be Moore. He started off with a lot of promise, but by the end he was working with incredibly bad material and is going to be remembered fondly for his initial performance while his later work is mocked and derided.

Damn, now I've got visions of Prime saying "I want you to tell me about 'The Penis Mightier'. "

Gotta go bleach the brain, BRB.

Nope, sorry. You have misquoted me. I don't know what video you saw on You Tube. But, I NEVER said I was the "Roger Moore" of Transformers.

"I'm sort of the George Lazenby of Transformers" is what I have been known to say.

    The reasons being that:

    A) I was the second actor to play the role.
    B) I had the shortest participation of any actor to play the role.
    C) The role was slightly different when we played them. (His Bond got married, mine was a Fire Truck.)
    D) YES, I think we agree (and I have often said) "Peter Cullen is basically like the 35 year old Sean Connery. If you can cast him, you do it!"

    Thanks everybody...

    Your Buddy,
    Neil Kaplan
