Think it goes without saying that life isn't always great to us, and it's so nice to have some plastic figurines to fall back on. I always thought MP was G1-centric only, and I'm glad to have been proven wrong. These figures just inspire creativity and newfound appreciation for the movieverse aesthetic and lend more representation to the mountainous effort that made it happen in the first place. There's something poetic and comforting about seeing these characters and their physical counterparts from 10 years ago evolve with me as I age. I can't explain it, but it makes me happy.

This must be the way MPM Jazz is introduced to this thread.

Even though all Starscream figures in the movieverse have been fairly competent such as ROTF Voyager, DOTM DLX, and especially HFTD Leader, we have to unanimously pretend that Starscream's release isn't the least bit anticipated, and when MPM-06 turns out to be not Starscream, we can say:

You fail me yet again, Starscream.

    ... Guess I'll chime in a little bit too. Yeah, I like these 2 Hasbro's current-gen MPMs that I own. Prime does need a Buster/APS level make-over that's properly QC'd though. (Which I'll buy in a heartbeat)

Also there's this guy in some place around my area selling this one for nearly 600$:

Super-ultra rare collector's item as per his words. (Ok I may have been liberal in translating his comments)

I find the box to be quite spiffy myself. Better than our current-gen MPM packaging for sure.

Has anybody devised any methods of looping wires around/in either of the figures to pull off LEDs in vehicle and bot mode?

Yes, installing LEDs on headlights and eyes should be very doable. (Sorry, I'm not a bayformers fan at all, so I will never be getting this figure!)

But that being said, wires would run through the torso (and legs if you really want taillights too). You would need to disassemble and study the parts involved in transformation so that the wires are strategically placed (with hot glue) so they do not interfere with transformation. If there is enough space within the figure to house a battery pack, you can do so, but most figures do not, and will need an external battery pack via wire.

The LEDs will most likely need to be trimmed with a dremel tool. If the energon-swords are translucent orange, you should be able to install LEDs to light those up too. The wires I use are enameled and approx 38AWG; they come conveniently installed within most cheap headphones found at the dollar store. I have a tutorial video on my page to help prepare those wires.

    Hope that helps!

    Hey Pastor Robin!

I saw your feature a while back, and your work is astounding! I threw my comment about LEDs in here offhandedly, but your comment sincerely makes me want to pursue wiring my figures.

One question though, as it has been the main concern with installing LEDs. On MPM-4 Optimus Prime, the front headlights assembly is wrapped in die-cast metal. Have you ever had to bore through die-cast metal to install LEDs, and how did you do it? Please let me know, thanks!

Thank you!! Yes, I've had to drill through metal a few times (e.g. Badcube Trailbreaker/Hoist's headlights). If the dremel doesn't work, I have a handheld screwdriver gun I use with drill bits that seem to work almost all the time. They're not anything special; just a cheap drill bit pack bought on ebay from China. Just takes a bit more patience, but it'll eat through and make a clean hole.

Feel free to ask me questions anytime. I'm always happy to help!

It's apparently the rarity combined with the desirability of the deco (which is great).

I got mine when he was first released and the price was reasonable for an "MP".

Honestly the paint jobs on MPM 1 & 2 are probably superior to the paint jobs on MPM 3 & 4.
