ok someone on a different board wanted the movie animated like the 86 movie
instead of live action... it could've been done both ways
look at Looney Tunes: Back in Action and who framed roger rabbit..
both movies were live action and animated they coulda done the same with
the transformers.... think about it megatron would've been a gun

 

i dont know man. i dont think it would work as a mix. not even the way that Sky Captain did it. I think it still would have been cool as an animated movie, but i think live action is definitely better. and megatron being a gun is just incredibly unrealistic.

 

The thing is, I don't think any of us want this to be a cartoon movie. Blending cartoon and live-action would automatically make it a cartoon movie, and thus cause a lot of people to pass it by. And that wouldn't be a good thing under any circumstance.

Plus, I don't think that would be an appropriate format for Transformers anyway. Too strange...

 

Nah IMPO it wouldn't look right.

That blending Live Action and Animation together (ie Roger Rabbit, Space Jam and Looney Toons Strike Back) works for those movies as those were kids movie and meant to be funny. Transformers isn't meant to be funny, thus this manner in which it's done is pretty much a requirement.

And honestly Megatron as a gun would only appeal to the G1 crowd. But with Megatron's personality and demeanor. Being a handheld gun wouldn'tmake much sense

Oh God no....Not bashing or anything, but I mean come on...Roger Rabbit was hokey when it came out and looks atrocious by today's standards...CGI was the only way to go and not have it look ridiculous.

It depends on how "real" you want the movie to look.

 

 

A fact i shall never forget. She made leaps and bounds in cartoon equality...since then it has been acceptable for guys to get happy in their pants at animation.

I feel dirty for typing that...but dammit it's the truth.

 

Sorry it would of sucked....my point 20 years after most TF fans waited and instead they would get another cartoon...

I do not believe that this idea would have worked at all. The idea was to make a movie for EVERYONE to enjoy, and not just Transformers fans (mainly G1 fans). This would have bombed, not what we have now. I am not bashing or flaming, I'm just saying that doing this would have been a huge mistake, and truly besmirched the Transformers name. The new movie is going to be awesome, action-packed, have state-of-the-art CGI and effects, and is open for ALL viewers, not just TF fans. I liked the G1 cartoon, and I like what I've seen of the live-action movie, but I don't think that the two should have or should ever be mixed.

 

Animated + live action is horrible, I have never liked that.
