So, after evaulating all of the deaths of the first TF movie, BW/BM, A/E/C, which death scene did you find to be the most touching and sad?

For me, it's a definate cross between the death of Prime in the original movie, the death of Dinobot from Beast Wars, Starscream's suicide in Armada, and Vector Prime's sacrifice in Cybertron. Which death did you find to be the most touching? It can be from any series, any era.

Yeah, Dinobot's scene was pretty sad.

G1 Prime's death was kinda quick, and no funeral. Also, the music at the end of Dinobot's funeral made it sad. Armada Screamer's up there. Quite frankly, G1 Prime's death wasen't as dramatic as the other three I've just mentioned.

    Vector Prime

Bud not understanding what death is.

For a long time Vector Prime has been merely an observer of life, a very lonely role.

Till he met others that gave his existence meaning.

Code of Hero. The entire episode builds up to that scene, and the entire ending, the music, Dinobot's last words into the funeral, everything makes that scene awesome.

Dinobot's, no question. Animated Prime's could of been close if he hadn't been revived 30 seconds later

Dinobot's with out a doubt. Most heroic end possible. He ends up being the hero/savior of all humans as well as the autobots who relied on humans to help defeat the cons.

The death of "Cybertron." The show.
Man i wept for hours, just thanking god that ADD inspiring, Ritalin addiction inducing crap was over.

    i kid.

I agree about animated Prime. he had the best last words going out (something like, "so this is what it feels like to be a hero") and that doofus girl with her key to infinity wakes him up.

Personally, death scenes are overrated. to me, the scenes that get me in the ticker every time are the ones right before a character dies.
Prime standing at the shuttle with Hound in the background and he says, "megatron must be stopped..."
when a character knows his ass is about to be handed to him, when he knows there isn't a choice anymore and he has to do something that will prove costly, that is where the emotions start moving for me.
like when han realizes he is about to be sealed in carbonite and instead of freaking, he gives orders to chewbacca.
    that is a defining moment.

but as a kid, when i first saw TFTM (1986) i was disturbed by the deaths of the autobots on the shuttle.
the smoke erupting from their mouths, the flickering of their spark in their eyes and the way they crumpled to the ground as though their metal bodies became rubbery...that hit me hard as a kid.
    there.

    Not hard at all...

First and foremost watching Prowl die on the big screen. A close second would be every death in the TF movie with the exception of Magnus. It was cheapened by the fact that the Junkions patched his confetti back together and BAM! back alive. Which invalidated every other death in the movie.

And in NO way sarcastic, watching the new Michael Bay movie and seeing the death of any hopes I had of robots that look good in a live action movie. Instead I get metal spaghetti with vehicle kibble tossed in for good measure. Oh, and of course good guys must have human faces, and bad guys totally alien monster faces. Freakin' cliche design...

Honestly I think the comics do it better as far as death scenes, except for issue 50 of the OS, when Starscream wiped out most of the TFU with a bare afterthough. No leadup, just wholesale purge of the character base, kinda like what they did with the old Marvel GI Joe series.

However, I agree that there are other things more notable than death scenes. Think I'll start another thread for that one...

Beast Wars Dinobot. When I first saw his death when the episode aired, I cried. I CRIED. :cry  He was one of my favorite Maximals, too...

Besides G1 Prime, I would have to go with Ironhide getting blasted to bits by Megatron. I never really liked G1 Ironhide but as a kid his death kinda scared me because up until that point nobody really died in cartoons.

    Dinobot.

G1 Prime's death meant nothing to me, the fact that he just makes a habit of doing it destroys any impact it might have had.

    Vector Prime's death was lame.

Armada Starscream's death was somewhat noticeable. I admit I was a little sad when he went.

Ironhide dying hit me harder than Prime's did in the movie. I cried over his death as a kid because it show Ironhide fighting until the end and just how ruthless Megatron could be. Up til then, Megatron never seemed to be so cold-blooded, but to shoot Ironhide in the face when he was already beaten... that rose Megatron above any other cartoon villain ever.

The death of Scrounge in the G1 comic affected me the most as a kid. :rip
