We were talking about old Sega's Space Harrier game and I got through thinking that I used to do some embarassing shit when I'd play that game.

I would play my Iron Maiden "Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner" tape and play the game with the volume down. Harrier was the Lone Long Distant Runner.

Then back in the days of NES, I would play Kid Icarus with Iron Maiden's Flight of Icarus. Suffice it to say, a lot of Iron Maiden songs remind me of video games.

Next stop: Def Leppard's Gods of War, while I play God of War (It previously reminded me of Rygar on NES.

The gauntlet has been tossed. Who has something more embarassing, that's game-related.

Wait, you mean without watching TV in between, or literally without seeing what you were doing?

I think Maiden wrote Flight of Icarus while playing Kid Icarus. Steve Harris was inspired. So that would make me cool and cultured for figuring it out.

Does having sex on the floor, pulling out, shooting my wad and inadvertently hitting my PS2 controller that was roughly 4 feet away count?

Cuz I got a "Holy shit" and a high five from the girl for that one.

That would fall into the "cool" category.

Hey Joe, did you ever get to see if you won?

Basically, my friends, my Dad and my brother were not very good at Street Fighter. All I did back then was play SF2. It came a point where I had to be handicapped in some way if I was going to play them. The strangest one was I was not allowed to look at the screen for a week while I played them.

The throwing of the controller at my TV and the constant cursing let me know I was doing just fine. Not always, but enough times that it got to them.

I remember as a child going to blockbuster and renting X-Men for nintendo, and when I got home I was telling my brother how I got the X-Men arcade game for nintendo, but when I put it in, it was a crappy above head game. I then lied and said it was still good.

I still do this. I'll be playing some RPG, when I level up, I'll still stop what I'm doing, stand up, pump my arms in the air doing that whole "raise the roof" gesture but saying "level up!" instead. Whats worse is when I'm watching my friends play an RPG and I'll do that and for some reason it embarrasses them.

One Christmas I got the No Doubt Rock Steady album from a friend and she wanted to hear it so we put it my CD player and I played Chrono Trigger for PS1; which I also got for Christmas. So now every time I hear a song from that album I can remember specific spots and what I was doing. On the flip side... every time I play Chrono Trigger I hear Gwen Stefani...

when I was about 12 I wrote a complete in-depth walkthrough for my favorite game... Spiritual Warfare for the NES. to this day I will still vouch for that game's quality as one of the best of the NES generation.

Playing the entire original Doom to all of Rage Against the Machine's "Evil Empire" album. Fun times.

Also, like Joe, beating my friends blind folded except it was Mortal Kombat II.

I play "You've Got The Touch" over the ending cinematic of Oblivion. And I think it's better than what they have in there now.

When I was 6/7, playing Goldeneye, in License to Kill mode(One hit kill), with Slaps only. I could never hit my brothers or sister, causing to shout in frustration "THERE'S A GLITCH IN THE GAME!!!", before bursting into tears.

I have something similiar, only it's Zelda:Ocarina of Time and Offspring's Americana album. I got both for Christmas of 98 and a discman. Quite obviously, they three went together too well as everytime I play the game, I somehow feel its missing that album being played along with it. Oh, and Old Dutch Cheddar and Sour Cream chips. I was eating those that first night while playing it.
