Sure the harvester was destroyed but was the matrix? prime does seem to have a new chest! Could it contain the matrix?

    Boys, boys.

I think it would be kinda stupid to destroy the matrix. They need a couple of artifacts to power stuff.

I would personally like to see a scene like in TFTM where Optimus opens his chest and you see his spark but it's the matrix instead.

I hope not. Firstly because their design is awful and secondly because Transformers would then have more comebacks than Elvis.

At least let Sentinel Prime get his 2011 comeback special before resurrecting The Bionicles.

Per the novelization and comic adaptation of the film, it was originally intended that the wisdom and power of the AllSpark would have transferred from Sam's mind into the Matrix when it was re-formed, and that it would then survive the explosion and be claimed by Optimus - essentially, transforming the Matrix into the standard "life-giving receptacle of wisdom" that it's normally treated as in other continuities, and putting paid to Prime's final speech about remembering the past. The novelization says it's in his hip (weird), while the Battle Blades toy put it in his chest (cool). Whether or not DOTM will reflect this.... hrrmmnn.

Maybe it's his new hip flask and he'll whip it out and take a chug during DotM.

Optimus: "Mmm... tastes so Wisdom of the Ancients-y..."

I hope not. The matrix was one of my favourite and least favourite parts of ROTF. It had an awesome as all hell design, and the goal of using it to revive Prime really made the "light our darkest hour" thing a lot more engaging for me, especially the irony that this matrix's purpose is really the exact opposite when you think about it. I also liked how it had to be "earned", not just something any dude can go and grab from the tomb.

However I think that it's apparent destruction was a big letdown, and the simple function as a key for the Harvester, while heavy in regards to the plot, was very limited. Especially since it brought back Prime and was such a task to find. However it's mystical prperties means it could always come back. Though I would've liked to have seen Prime pick it up or something afterwards. Make the Voyager Battle Blades canon.

yhea i think it would have more of a purpose than just turning on the harvester. the matrix was the crown jewel for the autobots in G1.It lit the universes darkest hour an allmost spiritual moment for them. I hope prime has the matrix in secret and not even mentions it until the climax of the movie when all of the cards are on the table. That would be worth the price of the ticket for(me)!:drunk

If the Matrix still exist, with the absence of the Allspark, I can see it as a McGuffin to reactivate Sentinel Prime.

Too bad that Scalpel didn't save that Allspark shard from being fully absorbed by Megatron for future use.

That way Megatron would have a probable means to raise the army inside the Nemesis. Though limited.

Well, I think I'd be pissed off either way. If it's destroyed it will have all been basically for nothing, and if it has some use in the third film I'll probably be disappointed in that the use is. But hey, nothing's perfect.

Trekkie here even "Star Trek" had continuity mistakes.

The Writers Strike affected their performance and did a half ass job with the movies they are writing for.
