Thanks guys. To me articulation and looks is everything , which Hoodlum fails to deliver is all aspects. When it comes to facesculpts, no one can beat TakaraTomy

Yeah, when I first saw the Hoodlum prototype pics I thought "Oh no...I might have to admit that maybe a 3P actually improved on the Takara..." But he looks so much worse finished than I ever imagined. It's certainly not terrible, but MP-28's supremacy is quite safe in my book.

Did up more storage and extended the display cabinet in the new studio and finally created some space to properly store the boxes too. Pretty thrilled about how things are coming together for the studio. After a decade, I think I'm quite pleased with the current set up where I can shoot and display the collection within the same space. Hopefully more exciting things to come in the very near future :)

The only thing I really like about Hoodlum is how the Spoiler looks in bot mode, I not sure thats enough to warrant a purchase. Quite happy with my Takara Hotrod.

I've developed a new appreciation for MP 28/40 after seeing the Hoodlum thread. He has his flaw, but gets a lot of things right. Just imagine if they made him now post Sunstreaker, where the budget isn't as much a concern as them trying to keep the carbots between 50-65 dollars.

That’s what happens when you sit on a prototype from 3 years ago and try to market it as a new figure . Dam dude was outdated at the time of his own release .

Only cements my assertion that certain hardcore FT followers will say it is gold while it is clearly a turd.

Nice box display, but what is that rectangular, corded device? ;)
    Kidding, it looks great!

Yeah, the proportions are the only thing I like on Fans Toys hoodlum, the rest doesn't seem right. I was going to order one but the more I compare the two the more I love the Takara version despite his issues, a lot of people are saying Hoodlum's is definitive or the best but really there are trade-offs between the two and I like MP-28 the most. Now, if Takara WERE to do a 3.0 of Hot Rod... there honestly isn't much I'll ask for. Hell, I photoshopped MP-28 a few times and he already looks good, people complain about the boxy chest but I don't really mind it - when proportions are slightly adjusted, it's not as noticeable. I resized the head by 10%, made the neck taller and shifted the shoulders close to his body. I'm tempted to buy MP-28 but I'm trying to get MP-36 right now so I'm unsure, so one thing I want to ask is, are the shoulders bad in-person? A lot of people say it doesn't but is it really? Still, I might buy this guy. MP-28-Hot-Rodimus-035.png

Yeah in bot mode, it doesn't quite look right on the car.

I think the high shoulders and the spoiler give it a Rodimus Prime posture. ..but this is Hotrod, that's why it doesn't work for me.

I dare say that's true for all hardcore fans. And that includes Hasbro/TT fans.

It's always good to be crtical and judge a figure based on what it actually is (and to not be dismissive of criticism others have) instead of praising it because a certain company makes it.

    Re-shooting some older figures

After all these years, he still stands pretty much alone. Hoping that we'll at least get a good MP-scaled Deszaras in this life-time

The kneeling pose is the photo that cemented it for me. MP-28 is flawed but I think it's a better looking figure.

The good thing is that lots of people are putting their MP-28s up for sale on eBay, so I can grab one for cheap.

Hoodlum is going up on eBay. Honestly the more I look at him, the more I hate him.
