Not sure if anybody already asked this but, Does anybody know for sure if there are any improvements on the MP-36 Reissue compared to the first release?

I just got him in yesterday and wasn't really liking him that much but kept transforming him back and forth and then displayed him in alt mode next to megatron he has really grown on me big time. One of my favorite transformations.

@Noobimus Prime. I believe that Charles has mentioned that in the vid as it was over two years ago since I last seen it.

Hurray! I finally got an MP-1 Optimus after years of only having MP-2. It's just the DVD Edition but it satisfies the itch. Now I just need MP-4, MP-4S, MP-1B, 20th Anniversary, and MP-1 Lucky Draw. Yeah, I don't think I'm ever going to even see the Lucky Draw figure but a guy can dream.[IMG]Movie 20th Anniversary Masterpiece Optimus Prime. by DesertDog76, on Flickr

A tribute to "Saturday Night Live" a la Shocky doing the obligatory famous pose? Quite the pose there!

I like the nod to the masterpiece mold that started it all.

I love all eight of my MP-10's but there's something about this chunky monkey that I can't turn away from. I'm happy to finally have this mould in Prime colours and I can't wait to get the rest of the variants.

I just transformed him and I'm shocked to notice that the tires actually say 'Formula Desert Dog' like G1 Prime and they have pattern accurate treads!

I'm literally over the moon right now, my day has been made.

I don't know if this has been discussed yet or not, but was MPM 04, aka Masterpiece Movie Optimus Prime, not supposed to be released until November 1st?

The reason that I ask this, is because about a week ago, I visited a Toys R Us in my area, scanned the figure at a price scanner and the price came up at $99.99. However, when I went to go and pay for Optimus, the cashier scanned it and immediately took it to the storage room, saying that the release date on him wasn't supposed to be until November 1st and she didn't know why they put them out so far ahead of time. I eventually went out and bought one this afternoon at another store, but the point of this is that I'm curious to know what the release date was supposed to be.

We won't know until January when he starts coming out. Nothing has been rumoured so far anyway.

Hey guys, when MP-9 v2 came out did TT explicitly state that they had fixed certain things? Or was it rumoured at some point? Or was it only when he started arriving in people's laps that all of that came out?

He's supposed to be out. It's a glitch in TRU's system. Had they actually looked into it they would've found that out.

Thanks for sharing, KO! I love hearing everyone's childhood memories and TF backstories! G1 Sideswipe and Skywarp would be enough to hook anybody - two of the coolest alt modes and color schemes in all of TF. I never had Sideswipe, but Skywarp was one of my firsts. That black, purple, and silver looked so dangerous and edgy! I might just take MP Skywarp off the shelf now to join me as my deskbot as I work today :)

Thanks, JF! Hot Rod's one of those figures whose color is really affected by the lighting, much like Shockwave's purple or Ultra Magnus' blue. I actually would like it a bit pinker, but like I've said, I'm very happy with what we got in the end :)

Thanks, brougham! Yeah, I was obsessed with TFs as a kid but even at the peek of my obsession their often verrry limited articulation was a definite disappointment and source of mild frustration. I've always loved putting figures in cool poses and in G1 we were lucky if a figure had more than one or two points of articulation. But now we've got TFs that look like the guys we loved watching on the show with ab crunches and forward shoulder articulation and knees and elbows that bend past 90 degrees? WTF?! So crazy.

And definitely agree that Hot Rod's face sculpt is fantastic. One of the few things I'd change about the figure now if I could would be multiple faces. Yelling, smiling, a goggles face (instead of the flip down feature) and a ball joint head so he could cock it to the side. Speaking of MP-40, in the AKOM animation his chin piece was a darker grey than the rest of his face. I can't tell if that's in the MP, can you? Looks darker in some shots but not others...
