OTL, the face really doesn't have that blue/green tint to it in hand. I only see it in photos. Also, the grey paint used on the rest of his body is much more metallic in hand than in pictures.

Too many posts/pics to like! Awesome photos as always. Glad you were able to get him. Hopefully the text part of the review will be coming soon, looking forward to reading your thoughts.

Thanks bud. I actually decided to shy away from sharing thoughts. I didn't even really tell anyone I've had this figure for a couple weeks and more. I was starting to be affected by the 'pressure' of reviewing, having an opinion on him and buying him as my "collection would not be complete without it" etc. So I took a friend's advice, enjoyed it in peace with no deadline or end result in mind. I wasn't even planning to share the photos, just take them and try to get the best out of my camera and myself. It's no lie that I was also dreading "I told you so" style messages too. Just needed to know how I really felt about a purchase of this cost and 'importance'.

    All the best

Totally understand, and I feel like I should apologize for being one of "those" guys. Last thing I want to do is take away from anyone's enjoyment of this hobby.

Absolutely no need my friend, I am pretty sure most of those messages were from a good place, people not wanting another enthusiastic collector to miss out on what is - I see now - a tremendous figure :)

The indecision and tangled web of bollocks I ended up wrapped in with the costs, accessibility, potential issues and such were nobody else's fault.

Ok, fine I'll get an MP-14+...but I'm customizing the heck out of that thing! I'm talking door wings, toy logo, scraping the paint off of the headlights, and if possible in gonna track down a Lamborghini sticker to put on the hood.

I know there was some conflict surrounding Megatron and I'm glad that you got to experience him as a collector and not as an authority in the community. You don't fault any of us but Dean has hit on the point that we do look forward to your reviews, as well as others, which can potentially add silent pressure and can make reviewing a little slavish for you. Last thing any of us want is for you to feel obligated or burnt out.

I think you're on the money there, that was definitely a part of it, and it just manifested itself more substantially for Megatron than something else like Grapple or Dirge where no such feelings of conflict exist.

Believe it or not, it's also quite a new feeling for me to get the 'big' releases. Even as a child I traditionally skipped the leaders and got the lieutenants, soldiers, minions etc, even as an adult collector I'd never get the Optimus prime or the Fort Max, but all the smaller stuff. Cost has been a factor but also just mentality I guess. I didn't expect to own Titans Return Fort Max, MP-10, MP-9 and definitely not MP-36.

...so what's the story behind that off-center logo, can anyone enlighten me?..

...i finally transformed mine into full carbine mode this weekend, just the one time, and despite my conscientious care there were indeed some light paint-transfer marks on his barrel after removing the extension...

Third time transforming him to gun mode, it's just too fun to resist doing.

You are the sole reason I picked up MP9! In the past I never really cared for him. Maybe bc I felt he was somewhat responsible for killing Optimus. I know it sounds silly to not get the toy, but the mind does crazy things to little boys.

I always look forward to your postings, articles, comments, etc. I know you have done tons of articles featuring other members and their collection. Have you ever thought about doing a feature on yourself? I know all of us would be

    interested.

I knew you'd enjoy it, and glad you are.

It's such an incredibly fun transformation which completely took me by surprise as I've tended to move away from complex transformations in recent times. There is such a great sense of satisfaction and achievement in transforming him, in a way, it almost feels like you've performed a magic trick of some sort. And one thing I found out which makes me want to transform him even more often, is that when you transform him and everything isn't aligned perfectly therefore making it look very gappy......it gives you an excuse to do it again for that perfect transformation. I think I'm on my 20th transformation at this point and like you said, scuffing be damned.

If someone would have told me he would become my most transformed MP to date, particularly after the first transformation and after all the videos I've seen, I would have told them to GTFO but yet here I am with 20 transformations or so. This figure has really surprised, he is my favourite MP figure to date, which is even more shocking because Megatron and complicated transformations are two things I'm not particularly fond of but yet he's my favourite figure. The likeness is too uncanny, it's almost unreal. I've said it and I'll say it again, TT have really dug a hole for themselves as I think this figure will be very difficult to top in the near future.

A phenomenal figure and my figure of the year, easily.

That's incredibly kind of you to say so, thank you. How are you enjoying MP-9?

I think I've written sooo many personal opinion pieces about aspects of the hobby that there's pretty much nothing left to share from my own perspective and opinions. It's all there in the years of articles :)

I have been interviewed by other blogs, but they never proved all that popular or well-read, so yeah maybe I've already said too much over the years!

    All the best

IMG_3941.JPG IMG_4045.JPG Nothing fancy. Crap from my phone, most of which I already put in the Megatron thread, so - apologies.
