I've been wanting to draw a non-silhouetted Makeshift for some time now. I guess I have a reason to take a shot at it now. I can't design or draw Transformers worth a scrap, though. ^^;

 

Cool, I'll have to give this a shot. But I won't be able to start it for a few hours. I wanna watch Survivor and Criminal Minds.

Of course! I'm doing it because it sounds like fun, but, I liked Makeshift and the concept of Shifters in Exiles. I'm a little upset that he was killed off so early in the series. DX He had so much potential to be amazing! Yes, I know why, too. Overpowered too early in the series.

Don't expect anything spectacular from me, though. May take me a bit, too.

Holy crap! I just noticed that this thread was majorly bumped.   Good thing you didn't set up a deadline... I'm just taking a break from colouring my entry. My thumb is sore from holding my 3DS and I'm a teeny bit dizzy from focusing on that tiny screen for too long. I'm pretty happy with my design I ended up quickly sketching it out in my "notebook" during Criminal Minds.

I'm glad this was bumped though. I've had a baaaad case of artist's block lately. ;_;


Oh, and I really do like the idea that Prime Dead End is post-explosion Makeshift.

I was debating between making him really generic looking or creepy. I made his face featureless because the first character that popped into my mind was a Ruroni Kenshin character. He was a master of disguise and got rid of his distinguishing features so that he can change his appearance easier.

Well, that's the second draft. He was originally trampled by elephants while still in the womb and shunned because of it but the author felt that it wasn't the best idea.

I chose those colours because he should be able to easily blend into the shadows fairly easily. But I really hate it when character are all grey so I broke it up with some red and green. I really dig the idea of Dead End being post-explosion Makeshift and I remember people calling him a Quickstrike homage at one point. So I put in a couple details inspired by Quickstrike.

I think that he can stand out a little bit design wise because he's already covered in spikes. Dude can't blend into anything when it's bright. So I had some fun with the detailing.

If anybody's interesting in seeing it I'll post my original sketch. I was hoping that it'd show up in the Colors! 3D animation but I don't think it does. Then again, the animations on the website aren't working for me right now. :/

I hope more people give it a shot since the different views and thoughts can produce some very interesting and different results. Sometimes I see something and go, "why didn't I think of that?!" which is always fun.

 

yeah, my veiw of him is basically an upgraded vehicon, like a mix between a vehicon and knockout

 

i will wait to see what repaints come out of the beast hunter line as a few of the characters should be spikey enough lol

Mine would have been done by now if I hadn't royally fudged up original sketch. It is beyond repair, really. It's just better if I start over, I have a better idea of how NOT to draw it. XD

 

glad people can get into this, im gonna give it a shot soon, mine is basically gonna be an upgraded vehicon, just some extra spikes, actual eyes, y'know the shtick
