I've been gunning for the ADVANCE for a while now, so I jumped on it. It feels like a gamble that it's both still in stock at that price and that it's opened with box damage, but I'll take my chances on it needing some minor repairs or cleaning since it beats the hell out of paying $450+ for it.
They are known for selling items in pretty flawless condition. Even when they say the box is damaged, it usually means a small wrinkle. There shouldn't be any issue with the figure itself or they would mention it. At least, that's what it seems like from everyone I've heard from buying from Madarake.
I appreciate you saying so - it assuages a lot of the anxiety of spending hundreds of dollars on a used/opened item sight unseen.
Got the reactive armor today. I'm very impressed. It's ALOT less fat in person. Everything is solid, nothing dangles or falls off easily. The chest armor takes a little fiddling to get both sides clipped in, but once it's in it's not going anywhere. The missiles are a little pink in some lights, but it doesn't bother me too much. I'm pleased the reactive armor has finally made it to 1/60 scale and it looks grand. I still would have liked some tampo-printing on the armor.
I haven't heard anything about it. You could try tweeting Arcadia to find out. Where did it break? I order from Mandarake quite often. I've never had a problem. The first time I ordered a "package damaged" from them, I spent 20 mins trying to figure out where it was damaged. Turns out the corners of the cardboard box were slightly white due to it being an old item and storage. Even severely damaged just means a crinkle in the box. I've seen much much worst on the shelves in stores here. I wasn't excited when the official pictures came out. I even forgot that I pre ordered it. But seeing everyone's in hand pictures makes want to have it now. GaiGarGar super mini pla just released so it's on its way. I'm glad the hands don't look too small and the chest doesn't look too big.
Holy crap that site is huge. Talk about falling down a rabbit hole! Is everything on the site used or do they also have new stuff?
The nice thing about their online store is that the items are all in their physical stores across Japan, so if you can't find it in their Akiba store may be available or cheaper at another location. Having been to a few ones (Shibuya, Akihabara, Nakano Broadway, and Osaka) they're great.
Mandarake is awesome I highly recommend it and literally a damaged box means like there's a 1mm wrinkle I kid you not
You know, I watched delta and I thought it ain't too bad and it is pretty good actually, but then I rewatched Frontier
it's all pre-owned, so it could be used, it could be SEAL, it could be open for inspection, etc. it will be stated in the item description.
These stands and figures can be very finicky to setup but still so much fun. Sorry about the poor lighting.
Checking back in after a hiatus. I am really hoping Arcadia releases either the Max or Hikaru 1J , or the CF 1Aafter the DYRL 1S in April. My Roys are getting lonely. I haven't seen any news to give me any hope on those prospects, though.
