I wanted it to look busy The road-works, the rubbish truck collecting the bins, the postman delivering, the police bike escorting a freaking huge truck. It's the details that make it interesting. Why thank you. Just a shame I couldn't get my huge airport down from the loft, else it would have been even bigger. First person I showed the pics to just said "Cloverfield that city!", but I didn't have any camcorders for a minifig to hold.
So yesterday was Lego store day but before I get to that I wanna show off some original Legos my oldest brother made: The Lego Store had some grab bags which I have been asking after for a long time because last time I got some super cool items. Monster body parts, and tank type treads and a huge wheel that you'd get normally in only a huge technic type car model. (Sometimes I wear it as a bracelet till I worry that it will cost me a lot to replace should it get damaged) Anyhow, this time it was mostly just bricks(In the general sense, since there were a lot of slopes and flats) but a lot of colors that I don't have and shapes I don't have in those colors, so worth it. And this is the set I decided to get to add to my future town set. I realized it does have a lot of unique pieces and I didn't have much in the way of firemen since the ones I had are pushing 30 years probably. Now, off to build!
You guys have www.brickshelf.com accounts? Here's mine: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=Ginrai My good creations:
Hey! That's how I make robot heads for BIONICLE creations as well. U SUK ASS! See? It all cancels itself out!
Yay another Lego store trip yesterday! Double Yay because it was the release date for the new "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" Legos! First a close up of the Crystal Skulls, which I describe as some of the weirdest Legos I own, which is saying a lot. Those only came with this set: Which was by far the coolest set out of these new ones to me. I am hoping the movie gives more context to these other sets. I also had a coupon for a free small cup from the Pick a Brick wall. And here are some pictures of the displays they had. Didn't capture it in the picture but the skull had a blue light effect in it:
Ok, two questions 1) Where are these lego stores you all talk of, cause I'd love to go brick picking and 2) Have any of you built and uploaded anything via the Digital Designer on Lego's site? I just got that Clone trooper Army building pack and reworked the speeder and turret into a super speeder bike. After that I went and tried to remake it via the DD but had to change a few parts, but it ultimately came out the same. And of you guys have Digital Designer creations you'd wanna share?
STFU? It blends just as easily with any other theme (though Duplo might be a bit of a challenge...), anybody who disagrees either isn't creative enough or is too lazy to try, like DV's Lewa- SK's Ninjo- Or Lovejoint's...whatever the hell this is- And don't even get me started on Cajun's shit, the guy is INSANE- DN
There are Lego stores all over the world. Though not enough really. http://service.lego.com/storelocator/ Just go there and you can see if there is one in your area. I should note that it will show you every store that sells Lego not just their own store. Plus the range is only 50 miles. Where I live now is more than 50 miles away from the Lego store but its like 60 or so miles to the big city where the decent shopping is(aka Lego store). I've tried the Digital Designer but didn't get far. I'm not so clever on the computer. And I went to the Lego store today. Haven't got any pics ready yet but I will later.
My brother sent me this link: http://gizmodo.com/387742/worlds-tallest-lego-tower-reaches-100+foot-mark Still kicking myself that I didn't go to Lego Land in England when I had the chance. So more pictures. First is my Lego cup. I went for bigger pieces this time. I took the last of their trees so I am hoping that means next time I go back something new will be in that bin. I am not sure how it works. I'll try to remember to ask next time. I also got another Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Skull set. Its a small one, only 10 dollars, but it was cute and I didn't have any of the giant ants in my collection. At first I thought the ants were spiders but when I looked at my spiders I said, no these are ants! (Just can't wait to see this movie!) I felt like expanding the "Jungle Duel" set to make it more fleshed out, at least add scenery and bits. And just to add to future town project I got a street sweeper:
Does anyone know of any sales/discounts/anything for Legos? I need the miniature Ferrari Transporter, but I know the minute I buy it TRU will have a sale or a BOGOHO.
Some weeks back I saw on the Lego.com main page on their rotating ad of products a Police Pontoon Plane. Now I like pontoon planes so I went to check it out and much to my surprise the product was listed "Not available in the United States". But there were reviews of it and one of the reviewers posted that their location was in the United Kingdom. So I quickly emailed my Dad who lives in Northern England and begged him to get one for me. And today it arrived: Of course the box got a bit beat up in transport but I am going to keep it because its a rare Lego box sold here in the U.S. that doesn't have the title written on the box. Here is the link to the set if anyone is interested. http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=7723 If anyone knows why it isn't sold in the U.S. please let me know. All I can think of is its some Prime's smoke stacks type deal where the propellers are too big or something. Well, off to build!
