What's with this recent trend of you guys posting feedback on new sets without context? I can only assume you're talking about the Aston Martin, but a link for the folks that haven't been following the last ~5 pages of conversation would be very helpful.
I'd agree with you guys, but I feel it's a bit unfair to have judgement already when all we have is just 1 leaked-quality picture; maybe it just looks better from other angles. I'll be going to the event tomorrow and have a full look at it. Plus they got the 007 license in it, so I'd very surprised if it didn't have any sort of functions/gadgets, and this usually means some sort of trade-off with aesthetics
We're talking about the Aston Martin reveal tomorrow, 3 posts above your post. Oh I think it'll have gadgets - the front bumper pieces seem attached by Technic bricks which I assume extended to form the bumper rams. But this part just seems really off, way too high. Like many I'll probably be reading the inevitable Brickset article but let us know how the event is! And take pictures if you're allowed.
My bad. I must have misclicked something at some point, because Admiral Prime was on my ignore list. I never use my ignore list, so that whole discussion chain looked really strange. What really throws off the shape of the car is that while the upper half of the car looks reasonably well-rendered (maybe the windshield should taper towards the roof a bit more), from there it just drops off straight to the ground, with purely vertical faces. It's missing all the curves on its lower half, eliminating its sleekness.
Just curious, With SDCC just around the corner and summer Star Wars sets are basically confirmed next month, what's to expect? I don't think I heard about any Winter Star Wars sets.
Was messing with the Space Exo Suit's articulation and decided to add a searchlight on top of the cockpit canopy along with a swiveling gun on the chin/crotch area (had some extra parts laying around). Now it can properly defend its moon base. Threw in some Tamashii explosion effects and rock pieces for more fun. Also picked up the Ford Fiesta rally car (nice build) along with the GT and GT40 set plus the F-150 Raptor and Model A Hot Rod set (these two are on my to-build list). Spoiler
Venom was in the set with Nick Fury and his transforming car(set 76004). What bugle set did Venom appear in? I kinda wish they did a bigfig Venom instead. That giant Venom looks like it wants to look organic but ended up looking like a mech; like a theme park animatronic.
Just think of it this way. Venom is sometimes always constantly “shifting”, so it doesn’t have smooth surfaces because it’s not in a set shape.
Seems like I got my sets crossed up. It's been a long while since he's been available, regardless. Seems like he was also available in a Juniors set, but I don't ever remember seeing that one.
The functions are really cool - I’m just not sure they’re enough for me to overcome the looks which definitely suffered.
The gimmick functionality is really cool: I don't think I'll be getting it, though. Not a theme I care about too much, and the car isn't rendered quite well enough to really catch my eye.

Can you swap the head and the cape to the old one easily? That the only reason why i'd buy the new one.
