    CD-I...God help you...Lol...

I think I'll move on to Majora's Mask, then the Oracle games and then Minish Cap next. I found my Mom's old Gameboy Advance a couple months ago, so it's going to come in handy!

Just finished Oracle of Seasons. Holy shit that end fight is brutal. Without the ability to create restore points on the 2DS I don’t think I could have done it. I just can’t grind on video games anymore.

    Now on to Ages!

Congratulations! Yeah, that's why I like the 2D Zeldas just a bit more. They have some bite to them.

Oh for sure. Half the boss fights got my heart racing in this game. That's exactly what I found lacking in A Link Between Worlds - it was a pleasant and enjoyable game but it had no bite at all and I don't think my pulse went up even once throughout the whole thing.

I haven't played any of the more recent 2D games, since I never owned any of the handhelds. Hopefully they will release some for Switch.

Definitely! In fact I still cuss up a storm whenever I see enemies like Bird Knights and Blue Ironknuckles. Worlds has a lot of amazing dungeons though at least.

Did you have any favorite parts in Seasons? I love the dialogue, and the Unicorn Cave is a lot of fun.

Unicorn Cave was great. I really liked the Sword and Shield dungeon a lot. The dialogue was great, and pretty funny in a lot of parts. The pirate sequece was great and I like how you are introduced to it right away with the ghost pirate on the beach but then it's closer to the end of the game before you can resolve it. Also I loved that there was a Lost Woods with a sword at the end - that's one of those Zelda tropes that always makes me smile.

And now, because I can be OCD at times I present to you, for sheer shits & giggles, the definitive list of titles in The Legend of Zelda game series released in North America... Which can be found most anywhere online, but I did say OCD... RIGHT? :lol

The Legend of Zelda Video Game Series:
The Legend of Zelda Nintendo Entertainment System
Zelda II The Adventure of Link Nintendo Entertainment System
The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past Super Nintendo Entertainment System

The Legend of Zelda Oracle of Seasons Game Boy Colour
The Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition Nintendo Game Cube (Contains Both NES Titles and N64 Titles)
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Master Quest Nintendo Game Cube
The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker Nintendo Game Cube
The Legend of Zelda Four Swords Adventures Nintendo Game Cube
The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess Nintendo Game Cube
The Legend of Zelda Classic NES Game Boy Advance
Zelda II The Adventure of Link Classic NES Game Boy Advance (Can't quite recall if this got a NA release)
The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past/Four Swords Game Boy Advance
The Legend of Zelda The Minish Cap Game Boy Advance
    Link's Crossbow Training Wii
The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess Wii
The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword Wii
The Legend of Zelda Virtual Console Edition Wii/Wii U/3DS
Zelda II The Adventure of Link Virtual Console Edition Wii/Wii U/3DS
The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past Virtual Console Edition Wii/Wii U/NEW 3DS

The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds Nintendo 3DS
The Legend of Zelda Tri-Force Heroes Nintendo 3DS
The Legend of Zelda Hyrule Warriors Legends Nintendo 3DS
The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening DX Virtual Console Edition Nintendo 3DS (Not sure if playable on Wii U)
The Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages Virtual Console Edition Nintendo 3DS (Again not sure if playable on Wii U)
The Legend of Zelda Oracle of Seasons Virtual Console Edition Nintendo 3DS (See above)
The Legend of Zelda The Minish Cap Virtual Console Edition Wii U Exclusive
The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Nintendo Switch
The Legend of Zelda Nintendo Switch Online paid service Nintendo Switch
The Legend of Zelda Living the life of luxury edition Nintendo Switch

The Legend of Zelda Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Mini
Zelda II The Adventure of Link Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Mini
The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past Super Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Mini

Well that's everything over the years from Nintendo of America... how many versions do you own or plan on owning? I personally think I'll own every version except the Switch Online paid service BS... why should I waste money for a service to own games when I can get it on Virtual Console or keep the originals/NES Minis?

This franchise is quite impressive in the re-release and remake departments... Oh and before anyone says so, nope, did not include the stupid CDI games, if Nintendo doesn't count them officially in the timeline then why should I include them in the list of games from the series? I may have OCD or something, but I still draw the line at games that are so terrible they create cult memes as part of my definitive lists. (Also they're so obscure I haven't memorized the titles for'em, so... stricken from the list.)

The worst part is that I spent a half hour on the dance, finished it, and then had to do it AGAIN for the Mermaid Key because I didn’t have the letter of introduction the first time. Bleeeeahahahahahahhhh

So far I enjoyed Seasons quite a bit more than Ages. Ages is a good, solid game and I'm happy to be playing it but I feel like everything is so scattered and hard to get to. Like the whole overworld feels like a maze, getting to some places you need to go more than once like the Restoration Wall is a tedious chore. Finding my way around Rolling Ridge is a headache. Having to warp back and forth between time is really brain twisting sometimes, espeically when you have to find a warp spot, warp, then use your harp to warp back etc. For some reason my brain is wired to handle all of the season changing puzzles but the time changing stuff just gives me thinky pain.

I also realized I'm really not using the rings at all. I tried a couple out of curiosity but having to go back to the ring shop and change them around just kind of makes me ignore the whole feature. I got the long toss ring right away in Ages and haven't changed it yet.

I've played Ages so many times now I'm used to all the backtracking and junk, in fact it and Seasons I feel deserve a revisit somehow, I also wouldn't say no to a third game called Oracle of Secrets so Farore has more to do than just act as a password function. With 3DS Wi-Fi it'd be so much easier to get all 64 rings in the game because you could swap and trade globally with everybody. It's interesting to see that the series hasn't had an official release since Breath of the Wild, and I'd prefer a simple throwback re-make on 3DS, but I'm not sure on everything due to Capcom being behind making both titles. Maybe WayForward could step in and give us a loving re-imagining of the Oracle games with 2.5D sprites and expansive three dimensional worlds, I'd also like to see them re-made so we can get puzzles and functions in the linked playthroughs of the games which would allow us to use the Rod of Seasons in Ages and the Harp of Ages in Seasons.

It'd also be nice to see Koume and Kotake return with their Twinrova form, I don't think we've seen them since the N64 days.

I love playing through the originals and the Virtual Console is a great slice of nostalgic fun, but I feel they could do so much with the premises of these games if they re-mastered them for modern handhelds. They could fix some of the puzzle issues some players have, make that third game idea for Farore so we can have all three Oracles represented and needing to be rescued and maybe add more forgiving mini-games and mini-game play controls for those stupid Goron Dance and Subrosian Dance mini-games.

Anyway, back to Level 4 in Ages. Stupid post distracted me and cost me my restorative potion. *Grumble, grumble.*

I hate the mine cart mini-game, at least with the fucking Bow you can fire multiple shots, hell even the slingshot let's you shoot multiple times in a row, but the seed shooter is a PIECE OF SHIT. All I want is the damn Boomerang for my items, but NOOOOOO, I keep missing that last fucking Rupee the size of a goddamn barn. If they did re-make these games FIX THE DAMN MINI-GAMES!

Maple's Heart Piece is beginning to get annoying. I've hit her multiple times, only twice has she dropped the damn thing and BOTH TIMES she's been closer to it than me giving me no chance to get to it first even with the Pegasus Seeds. Stupid Witch.
