I couldn't stand the fan questions and left after 5 minutes. I saw him in 07 so I didn't mind missing out.

Someone asked him about TF slash fiction and he got escorted out of the panel. I wasn't there either.

I, like T16skyhopp, left the panel early. I asked my question sat down and then felt embarrassed to be a fan and left the room.

I did not attend the panel. I had a bad headache and left. But anyways, was it the same guy who cell phone rang (and answered) while he was asking a hundred questions in the HASBRO designers panel?

I ducked out early. I think I may have caught the slash fic question guy, but frankly i stopped paying attention since most questions were just groveling, signature/pic/hug requests and Optimus impression requests. It was painful to watch, though Cullen is a champ for fielding those people so well.

No, though he did ask a (non-offensive, though utterly stupid) question in one other panel. He was literally the most full-of-himself jackass I've ever seen personally in my entire life. For one thing, he REFUSES to actually STAND UP and speak into the microphone when answering a question. He just walks up to the question-answering area and then fricking SITS DOWN on the floor. As you can tell by the question, he's extremely disrespectful, and went on and on about how great he was and how famous his genius would be soon enough and maybe he would meet Cullen then before he asked the slash fanfiction question(and he most definitely was not joking around/being facetious). I'm glad Cullen didn't understand what slash fanfiction was, or we might have seen him lose his cool for the first time ever. Cullen's reaction was just total confusion, an "am I missing something here?" moment.

Between him, the creepy "You were my FATHER"-esque statements, and the fangirl requests, the panel was just positively painful. I'm not attending another Cullen panel ever after this one, I'll just talk to the man in the autograph line if I have a particular desire to in the future. This one really made me ashamed to be in the fandom like no other panel I've been to.

(To my friend's credit, he had been in the question line for a while and after seeing all these stupid "questions", when it was his turn to ask something, before he went onto the actual question he commented, "Wow, I was ready to ask for a hug, an autograph, a handshake and a drink but I guess I've already been beaten to the punch." That got a fairly good laugh out of the crowd members who felt like we did.)

It sounds like I should not feel disappointed that I missed it.

On a side note, that was my other big "regret" this Botcon besides attending the Peter Cullen panel-- not meeting the WTF@TFW crew. Guess I was just always in the wrong places at the wrong times. Except for Sol Fury, who I chatted with briefly, I never saw anyone here I recognized except for two instances-- A) Vangelus the couple of times he asked questions at panels, but obviously I wasn't going to go up and talk to him then and B) One time in the elevator at the Sheraton, I saw Fosterlager. But it took me too long to figure it out. It was bugging the heck out of me, "I've seen that face somewhere, but WHERE?" and by the time I made the connection "In Fosterlager's avatar on TFW2005, it's Fosterlager," the elevator had already opened and he and the people he were with had walked out. BAH.

Ah well, maybe next year. (I didn't go to the big TFW2005 meetup because I hang out with another small group normally, and we had other plans that night. Plus, I can't drink alcohol for medical reasons, which would have severely limited my fun at that party.)

Yeah, the requests for pictures and autographs got really annoying. The worst was when they finally put a stop to it, and the next girl to ask a question was all like, "Well since everyone is bitching about people asking for autographs, I guess I'll just have to wait another 3 years." Seriously, if those people wanted autographs so bad, they should have waited in line with everyone else.

And yes, cell phone boy and slash question dousch were a total embaracement to the fandom.

On the other hand, Cullen himself was great and I was glad I got a chance to see him at the panel.

Same here. The only people I recognized were Vangelus and Sean Long from the panel.

"Mr. Cullen, can you do what it would be like if Eeyore and KARR were on a date for my friend who isn't here? And, also, would you autograph a hug for me? And, also, can I call you 'dad'?"

Yeah, and then 2 people later everyone starts asking for autographs & whatnot again. And Cullen, gentleman that he was, wasn't going to say "no", but man people, at least show SOME respect to the Hasbro peoples who are running the convention.
