It has something to do with how you take pictures. In the last decade cameras and camera phones have had the ability to tag a photo with information about how to orientate pictute based on how the phone/camera was held when the picture was taken. That way you don't have to edit a photo and move all the pixels to change the photo.

But not all software looks for those tags.

For example, I take a picture with my phone. My phone tags the photo as portrait. I put the photo on my computer. Windows reads that tag and makes it portrait. I go to upload that photo to a hosting website. That website doesn't read that tag, so the photo is uploaded as landscape.

Or even better, I rotate the photo with a photo editing software that literally moves the pixels, but doesn't change the tag that says to rotate the picture. So windows now displays the photo incorrectly, but when I upload it to a website, the website displays it the way I want because it never read that tag in the first place.

Basically, when the new system works, it's better. When it doesn't, it's worse than before. I can't tell you if it's your phone, whatever editing software you might use, or the website that's rotating the picture.

That was interesting. Thanks! I'll try to just take landscape for now since they all seem to end up that way anyway.

On topic: I started doing a little custom paint on this guy, mostly to the truck mode right now, but I plan on spraying several parts silver to match with his silver painted bits which look awesome. I also want to add the red to his toes and fill in the gold bits on his abs and shins. Oh and the silver on his helmet!

I'm excited for this mold, but I'm definitely waiting for a sale.

Thank you for the compliments fellow board members!

His height looks to be about 7.25" to the top of his smokestacks, and 7" to the top of his antennae/ears. 20170421_125944.jpg

Not worth the price tag in my opinion.
With a better paintjob maybe, I'd even pay $45+ for a nice premium job but the figure itself needs some fixes.
Wrist swivels, ball joints instead of swivels for the feet.

I would easily be up for a cannon, alternate larger shoulder guards for robot mode, and a bigger sword and shield pack.

With enough paint I can see why some of you prefer this over the leader figure. I will get one at some point but just not sure which one. Considering a stock one but if I get it, I'll definitely paint the hell out of it. The necessary detail is sculpted but is bare on this figure.

As evidenced by the excellent customs posted earlier, this figure definitely needs paint to bring out all its true detail.

Really great pictures guys! He's still not released in my country yet. I've been feeling pretty frustrated and curious why none of the import shops have broken the street date yet and I remembered why...a couple of them were hit by fines a couple of years back (during the ROTF toyline) so I guess they are being cautious.

The good news is that Toys R Us (my country_ will be releasing them next week! Yay!

He's seriously one of my absolute favorite Prime figures ever. He's running neck and neck with ROTF Leader Class Optimus as the best of the movie series.

I'm painting him right now and it's bringing out so much of the detail that this awesome figure has. I wish this had been the mold for the original AoE leader class so that they could have added some of the things it desperately needs in order to be perfect (wrist and ankle articulation, slightly more compressed backpack, and a shitload more paint).

Patience with this mold is a sensible approach. Now that we know about the limited special repaint in Asia, better repaints seem inevitable, though probably not of the quality we're seeing in this thread.

Hmm? The Optimus behind them? That's the first movie Voyager. Still holds up well today. This Last Knight one is my second favorite movie Prime Voyager after Evasion Mode.

Oh. Yeah I thought that version had blue shoulder pads. The AS version has red. My mistake. Though I do agree, it's a fun figure. Did you ever get the "Farmageddon" version of Evasion Optimus? It's my favorite.
