Vehicle mode: It's a truck. Decent size, storage for both the shield (on the trailer hitch) and sword (mounted under the cab). Note that the transformation is INCREDIBLY fiddly so getting all the panels to align is a near-hopeless task. He also does not roll well. I know that matters to a lot of people. Handling him too much makes the panels untab occasionally. Also, kudos to the guy who was in charge of paint matching. The blue plastic and paint are a nigh-identical metallic blue that looks great. Transformation: Hoo boy. In a word, fiddly. In two words, shell former. Though I must say, I do love the leg transformation which has the wheels and fuel canisters and entire side of the truck come out from the legs. But getting the cab perfectly lined up is a nightmare. Robot mode: This is where he shines. He looks so great. The paint is excellent, the plastic is solid, and he just looks good. The shield is a little small, but it leads to making the figure feel agile and dynamic. Articulation is only so-so, though. No swivel wrists (something that is preferred for my sword-wielding bots), elbows only go 90 degrees. Due to the transformation, he does have a waist, though. I can't compare him to any post-DOTM Prime figures but it's a very nice robot mode. He is also very light, lighter than any Voyager I've handled. This is a double edged sword since he holds poses really well. Bottom line: Great looking robot mode, fiddly transformation, fun toy (that I don't see going into vehicle mode any time soon).
