So for me, the best Megatron movie figure we have gotten so far is the Takara Voyager ROTF, but does the TLK Megatron take reign?

My review criteria is based on scale, accuracy/faithfulness of the bot mode and alt mode, intuitive transformation, and overall durability. As far as scale it fits perfectly with Optimus Prime (TLK), Galvatron, and about a tad bit shorter than the ROTF. Haven't seen the movie, I have to say the bot mode does evoke a close resemblance based on previews, but it might be a bit too dark. I do dislike the yellow "drool" and plan on coloring the chin and leave the yellow bits for the teeth. I'll admit it is a bit dark but then again the movie shots that I have seen seem to present a darkish metal tone (not a big deal).

The alt mode (I guess) is pretty accurate but we haven't seen the movie representation yet. Overall I am liking how the Voyager figures (Prime and Megatron) are nailing it with accuracy. The figure has some good playability/durability. It is pretty thick, akin to the Galvatron figure. I can imagine throwing it around in a bin and it won't break. The transformation is very intuitive without being “dumbed down” by cheating.

But yeah, this figure was very impressive and it definitely will be THE Megatron for my movieverse collection. Don't get me wrong, I like the new ROTF Megatron but I think the new one is definitely a couple of notches better.

I love the color they used on him. To me, this guy looks the best between him and the leader.

This is an awesome time to be a movie Megatron fan all right.   Not only does he get a solid Voyager but an excellent looking Leader as well. You can't go wrong with either one or both even.

 

I agree. Yet with the recent images of Leader class, I am bit bothered that the nose of the jet becomes his cannon. I don't know it doesn't seem well integrated into the bod mode of the Leader class.

 

True but aside from that it's impressive about how shockingly well the Leader turned out in the end. I feel like this is Hasbro way of apologizing for not giving us a Leader Megatron for the DOTM line.

Also I do like how well he looks next to AOE Galvatron. It does show how different they look despite them being the same character

I think I prefer the leader since the jet mode wings don't have legs attached to them, but since I love the TLK Optimus Voyager so damn much I might have to get this guy instead to scale with him.

Unfortunately I can't get both as it would be harder to justify to my gf haha

Wow, very impressive, from the colors used to the transformation. The sculpted detail is great. I'll wait to see what repaints Haskaromy have planned but in the meantime, I'm tempted to pick this up as is.
