China vs Japan, eh? Weird, but I guess it makes sense, historically. I mean, I rarely question that most army men sets I grew up with feature a bunch of green "americans" versus the blue "germans", despite the fact that Germany has been friendly (okay, at least HALF of it) for the past 70 years. :)

As a matter of fact, Chinese movies I've been seeing in the last few years are stirring up anti-Japanese sentiment as a means of galvanizing Chinese patriotism to a degree I haven't seen since 70's kungfu movies. I guess the toys are just reflections of this on some level.

Maybe Chinese army sets should be Communists vs Nationalists? Haha... not great for enforcing a sense of a unified Chinese manifest destiny, I guess. Better to stick with the Japanese.

Yeah, war dramas are on TV all day long here now, hope there's not an "event" soon and they kick us all out, then won't be able to get KOs :)

I'm picking all that kind of stuff up just for the current eventness of it, like these Air Attack Libya TF's.

and I just added pics of Letter L

Just picked up this guy through ebay, at $48 shipped I probably paid too much. I remember seeing him a few years ago, at Big Lots I think, and passed on it, I shouldn't have.

Quality is OK, not Takara that's for sure, but better than the other Big Lots KO Devy. I paid $34 + $14 shipping. Here's the auction, but it doesn't look like the seller has another. Transformers Construction Team G1 Devastator Remake | eBay

Just got these bad boys from Mr. Grant at sirtoys
    [IMG]
The Shrine Warriors (big ones) are pretty cool, much bigger than I expected, and quite hefty. Not bad articulation either. :D
overall glad I got them, and will probably get the rest of them as well.
The smaller ones are micromaster knock-offs. Don't know their names or anything. Sirtoys has a "blind bag" option for these for $0.50 each.
Thanks for making all these easily available Paul!

Yeah, that's definitely the same as my Dollarama version (sold individually). It's actually a pretty good set, though $6 is a much better deal than $48. In retrospect, I definitely should have bought several sets back when they were still available.

Well, once things go out-of-production, I guess it's normal for the price to go up based on rarity. I haven't seen that Constructicon set in stores now for at least 7-8 years. And on the bright side, you do get that pretty SWEET gift-set packaging. That's gotta be worth another $20 at least. :D

I was at a Big Lot's store one day when I saw these cheap, wanna be transforming robots. Some a good design to them and I thought those would be great for stop motion animators that need some cannon-fodder "Cybertronians".
