Yeah, swap out the Chris Hemsworth head, and it would almost be an acceptable truck-robot.
Did they make a Slog KO? I don't remember seeing it
No, I don't think they did... probably because he was a non-movie design, and came out a bit later.
But that shouldn't stop them!
The OS legends I bought so far have all been good. and cant wait for that ko sharkitcon due this month. Have not ordered yet, but it can be ordered now etc from ali express, show Z and Rubadubspawn here on TFW / FB.
I liked the nice price point on those other KO oversized Legends. They're sort of upping the costs on this Sharkticon aren't they?
I think these KO companies are still doing pretty good work, but I'll be disappointed if they eventually just transition into being another 3P company with big-price, big-ticket items. That market is already saturated. I'm in this game as a budget-minded consumer precisely because I can't shell out for every $100 figure that comes out.
I more or less CAN shell out for the 3P game, but I out right refuse to for anything less than an amazing toy. I'm ALLLLLL in on HQ KO world, as a vote-with-my-dollars protest.
China is showing what CAN be done in economies of scale (albeit with a frequent unfair R&D advantage), and they should be rewarded for it.
But as long as fans are willing to shell out $50 for a 3" tall figure and multiple hundreds for anything above 6" the 3P guys will keep printing their money.
Yeah, I mean... I have 3P figures, and I have Takara MP figures. But the 3P game moves very fast right now, and the US dollar is very high. It makes my head spin. So yeah, I'm pretty much out of the 3P game for now.
But the high-grade KO market is a real joy at the moment, so I hope it doesn't get too pricey. As long as the producers are still at least -somewhat- making these figures for the local retail market in China, there's some hope that it will stay economical.
I'd be even happier if they were OS AND they were given wrist swivels.
Seriously, there hasn't been a cost effective, large Dinobot option EVER. Make this happen, please!
They are not arms microns.
I'm surprised they haven't made an optimus prime from the Galvatron mold yet.
It would be like making optimus into a gun... Oh wait, optiaim from tfc comes to mind.
Saw this pass by in the 'suggested eBay listings' thing, and it actually looks pretty cool! Anyone know more about it?

Funny thing is, they are racing takara to their own product at the moment, as a similar price point. KO mold of TR Gnaw, but in TAK colors, it have a (minor) negative impact on actual TAK gnaw sales, not for non-ko buyers of course, and really it's a small drop, but still interesting that they will be available BEFORE takara's product. Right now I can pre-order the tak one, or the TR KO for about the same price.
Listing is ridiculously over priced, but that's a nice looking bot. I'd snag one if I had a chance. Based on the associated listings (and price) I'm guessing this is a Korean offering.
Galva(Lio)Convoy is a thing.
Yeah, I don't BLAME the HQ KO'ers for wanting to edge their prices upward when the bigger guys are charging SOO much more than KO's have traditionally cost, but there's a definitely a tipping point at which the value proposition is just totally lost.
Can anyone find these on ebay?
Ahhh, really dig the style of some of the Hello Carbot range but 1) they're either way too small or way too big, like, Leader-class size; and 2) pretty expensive given the fairly simple engineering. If someone could downscale them from 1:19 to 1:32, that would sweeten the deal!
Still loving this beast.
Wow, that actually does look really cool!
Yeah, are they Korean? They seem to like really big car-robot toys (thinking Tobots). From what I can see, the line looks pretty cool. Most of the designs are very appealing, but yeah... if they're really big, or disproportionately expensive, that takes the fun out of it.
That's cool. For me, a Takara version has to be really exceptional for me to fork over the extra money for it (as opposed to paying retail/sale prices domestically in Canada). Relatively speaking, I'm fine with the Hasbro Sharkticon, and I'd rather just have a small patrol of them for a reasonable price. It'll take more than wrist articulation to elevate it to a new price point.
I'm a price-sensitive collector. For me, my interest in the KO scene is very much tied to the value-for-money equation, and the fact that I can often get better stuff for less than I'd pay at retail. When that balance starts to tip towards paying -more- is when I stay away more.
Hey, does anyone ahve any news on the NEOarts toys Leonidas (Lio Convoy)?
Do we have any confirmation that the new barricade will get an upgraded KO (little bigger, riot shield or more folded roof, perhaps more paint?)
