Even better...I'd take the Torchbearer deco from that version too...shouldn't be hard to procure pre-pays for Fem-former decoes...wish something of the like could be organized...two figure minimal buy-in...at the least 250 interested parties...

That would be pretty sweet, and that version would be best for maxima mainly because of the faceplate

I can say with some direct-authority that the minimal is more like 3500.

Caveat: That was a large HQ Voyager KO. That was the off-the-shelf quoted MOQ for a custom-colorway without any negotiation over quantity that I'm aware of.

I can see a good place to start being things that require little or no changes to the spray mask so for example a Wei Jiang Arcee/Arlee in the usual Paladron Medic green repaint. no new spray mask or paint or new head required on that.

If one wanted to spend a bit more then there is the dark Boxed set repaint or even a new head or if some really wanted to throw their money around there could be one with a Daniel Titanmaster.

But starting simple seems like a good idea.

    ***

I would hope that some of the more obvious things would get made anyway - like other Combiner Wars repaints or the Overscale AOE Dinobots in a range of colours.

But it seems some store are already getting limited edition G2 coloured MP style Dinos as a thing - I guess someone could do the same with the small toys too like what DX-09 make.

The Overscale Rodimus/Blackjack mould as Runabout & Runamuck seems to be one that comes up again and again as something with appeal - as does the other jet colours - but I expect they will milk the jets themselves.

Depending on the per unit pricing...that still doesn't seem beyond reach...of say a mixture of 500-750 fans/collectors...AND...maybe a outlet supplier...OR...two that could go in for a fair chunk of that...to sell at some mark-up...whilst the pre-payers get as is cost...I think anything that'll get you a Fem-Former...OR...darn close could work...updated Gobots from Minibots would seem another can't miss...G1 Dinobot-styled decoes for AOE Scorn, Slash and TLK Scorn would certainly interest a fair amount...I strongly believe...hmm...

Are you referring to the abortive Impactor/Strika from Universe Onslaught project? That one was a shame.

I imagine it's pretty hard to muster those kinds of guaranteed numbers for an independent fan project. It would probably be necessary to buddy up with an established company or distributor, so you wouldn't be limited to the direct market, no?

Sorry if I'm really late for asking this since this is such a HUGE thread. But does anyone recommend getting the Superion KO? Is it the sir toys one? 8 saw reviews of Uranos and noticed how unstable he is to stand and he doesn't look close to his cartoon colors. No red eyes and for the price, it seems insane. My other option was to possibly get a UW Superion with an upgrade set. But not really sure. The cheaper the better. Any ideas or advice? Thanks in advance for any help without hopefully being ignorant.

Depends what you are looking for. OSKO Superion is super simplified, all heads and hands are cheap and useless and overall the plastic is flimsy. Having said that, in jet mode they're pretty good looking and are a paintjob away from being G1 accurate. As individual robots the KO heads are a huge distraction being ugly as heck, you can go on down to Shapeways and find some really nice replacement heads but at almost $20 each the price/value thing becomes an issue. Same goes for the individual bots hands, small delecate options exist at another +$20 a figure. Combined they are worth it. This Superion looks decent right out of the box and is plain enough and a decent size to stand beside MPs.

So IMO ya its worth it. I wanted a superion so I got it, I bought mine painted it and am leaving it in combined mode.

I rate it on the same level as CW devy I'm waiting to see whats KOed next (lookin for that OS Constructor....that's right OS). The KO world has proven fans want MP scaled gestalts and whoever is making these OSKO things at weijang is being picky which is great because the 3rd P combiner wars are in full effect and there arent really a lot of good attepts at Superion so maybe they are waiting for that toyworld attempt hoping the CW isnt the closest thing to G1 available.

still Superion is worth 60. Things like OS Warbo for 110 put our price/value gague out of whack. I say buy it.

Do you consider Uranos ugly and not even near G1 cartoon accurate?

I'll second everything said here. If you want to muck around with some painting you can have your self a decent display piece in combined mode. They actually look pretty great in jet mode too. The robot modes are garbage, although Silverbolt is semi-tolerable.

The main issue is the plastic quality. It's sharp, brittle and feels like it may shatter and impale your eyes if you look at it funny. So if you're going to combine, pose and leave him there go for it. If you're someone (such as I) that likes to transform them back and forth at least semi regularly then don't. I don't like buying statues.
